Unrealistic.
brian-7190615 October 2021
Its likely that after his second victim he would have been tried as an adult and they would have thrown away the key.

The idea that someone so deluded, and childish can commit a series of 1st degree murders and elude a life sentence is laughable, also all of his victims (except for the first one) seem to not have any survival instincts.

On the other hand some of things depicted do happen to children. Rape, Bullying, Problems at home, and metal illnesses can be the inducement for hard crimes.

P. S. I wanted him to die!!!! Because he had my name!!!!

He Has A Biting Problem.
wandernn1-81-68327417 January 2021
So this is a badly made psychopathic killer flick. He has psychological problems as a kid and goes through 3 stages of being hospitalized and released. Each time he comes out killing again. Does this really happen? I certainly hope not but you do often hear of wackos being released and committing more crimes. But in this case, the guy just offs everyone. It just seemed really unbelievable and stupid to me. And the end was lame.

yeah, it is not a bad film ...but...
cat_schroedingers22 September 2020
...it really paints a terrible picture of getting help with mental issues. I get that the point is, that the system, an abusive family etc etc can make a person with the wrong genedisposition into even more of a psycho... and there are many ppl out there having no place in a psychjob, thinking they are gods, BUT: everything so severely onesided just doesnt sit right with me. i know what i am talking about when it comes to mental illness. the film sadly depicts any form of therapy and the illness itself very one sided. i know there are more countries with bad health care than with good ones, but nonetheless... maybe its to close to home, since i am involved in helping metally ill and suffer myself, still this movie made me sad. for all the wrong reasons.

Horrifying, but not in the way you think
ashley-5158219 June 2021
As a mental health therapist this movie was insulting. As just a person watching it...well it's still really bad. I never leave reviews, but I felt compelled.

Terrible
movie_ape15 November 2020
One of the worst films I've watched, and I have over 4,000 ratings I've made on IMDB.

This film is not a horror, not psychological, not a thriller, not anything other than highschool drama.

The pacing is so slow, the revenge that the protagonist makes is so ridiculous I was laughing. But this is not a comedy or a parody; they were serious.

1/10 I hated every aspect of this.

Another worst horror film! Full of boring conversation, and annoying overuse scene! Not recommended!
kwenchow2 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This film start with a mother "Debbie" talking with her son "Brian" about his sister "Aubrey", and his father "John" bringing his sister to him scene! As turnout this film is about a mentally unstable male "Brian", after cure by a bunch of therapist from childhood to adulthood, he eventually decide to kill all the therapist curing him, the female he love, and all his family member! Entire film full of boring conversation, and annoying overuse scene! Such as, overuse of the flashbacks scene, overuse of the close-up facial scene, overuse of the staring scene, and overuse of the blackout scene! Make the film unwatchable! All the killing scene also quite messy, and shaky! Make the film quite frustrated to watch! The biting scene also just show the blood after biting! Barely intense scene is, Brian biting Dr. Keller to kill him! At the end, after killing all his family member, and the female he love! Brian went into the last remaining female therapist house! The film just end like that! What a wasting time to watch film! Pathetic!

Ridiculous
jopipah14 February 2021
Movies like this are why there is such a stigma around mental health. This whole movie was full of the unrealistic stereotypes of mental illness. Saddens me this movie was made and reinforces the fear that people (who don't understand) have surrounding mental health issues.

how decieving and unfair life can be
ops-5253517 September 2020
According to DSM-5, The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition of 2013 the main caracter will overthrow every decent criteria due to bearing symptoms of mental illness that can corroborate with every single diagnosis herein listed. its a film about madness, a great sad mad story about a boy that wnt through neglect as child and adolescence, a father that gave beating as attentive measures, being bullyed at school, until the moment of cataclysmic rage, and a kill is done.

if you like mental stuff, this is an eyeopener, if youre not then dont view, and caution should be made if your depressed or if you have a tendency to any kind of sosio-psychopatic narcicissm disorder, because the flashes, the intens soundeffects, the fast shifting eeg flashing moments of madness, may inspire the disorder to freak out.

but its also a film about a boy whos angst are very visual and whos bad luck makes you feel sorry for him ,and when he starts to clear out all the knots in his life , you will almost for surtainallow him to do these revengeful acts . its a cruel story for sure, when a borderline is boarded onboard ss freud.

production do have some issues, and a very stakkato rythm, from being acdc'ed and thunderstruck by loud sound, and scared hyper due to nervegrinding kind of score, and given TIA's from the flashing lights, youll be dead meat in the end.

acting are good, especially in the child years of the story, though the casting crew has done a decent choice of actors.so to end a psycheledic story, its a recommend from the grumpy old man

Decent
Kaos65720 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I have seen a couple of hundred horror movies over the last few years and this is one of the better movies. This movie shows what happens when mental illness gets ignored for too many years, and when mental health care fails to help those that desperately need it. This is more of a psychological "horror" if you view the movie from the view of the main character as the movie intends, but you would think that at some point they would have figured out the sociopath has been playing them all.

The flaws in this movie are very apparent. First, police don't seem to exist... Anywhere, even at the end they are just calling in the situation back to their headquarters. If the cops had done any finger printing at all they would have caught him after he killed the high school bully since his finger prints would have been all over that rope.

Meh... Entertaining, but nothing special
Hex_0mega28 December 2020
This movie just kinda felt like it took concepts from "Joker", but the moral is a bit more diluted. Plus, Joker was actually a really good movie. There was more killing involved in this, and it seemed like it was more for the sake of chaos for a derranged psychopath than revenge. I'm not saying it was too dark for me because it wasn't (but it was very dark), but movies like this are why it really just urked me that so many people had their panties all in a knot about Joker. To them, this movie would be Joker on steroids.

I wasn't routing for the bad guy in this like I was with Joker. Only 1 or 2 of the victims really deserved death (and the one definitely did. You'll know which). Now you could say that about Joker too, but he killed a lot less people and for the sake of argument, The Joker is an actual supervillain character who is notorious for wreaking havoc. I feel that both movies were kinda trying paint the same picture, but Joker delivered the message much more tastefully. At the end of the day, I wasn't real impressed with this movie, but I didn't totally hate it.

Here is one of the reasons that I am having such a heavy emphasis on comparing this movie to Joker. The director walked himself into this one. The dude paints his face at the end in this movie, which made no sense. It was completely pointless and added nothing to the character or the story's conclusion. He's not The Joker, nor was he a clown, a comedian, a mime, or anything that would justify the act of applying the face paint. Maybe they threw that in there as a tribute to Joker (although this guy honestly looked more like someone who was very, very drunk on halloween and couldn't decide if he wanted to be Heath Ledger's Joker or The Crow). I personally thought that part was stupid. I don't know what they were going for there, but it was way out of place in the movie.

Unconvincing mixture between psychological thriller and over-the-top horror
johannes2000-116 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It's advertised as a horror/thriller, and it actually is, judging to the amount of killings, the jump-scares and all the blood and gore. But I got the impression that the makers had even higher ambitions, this movie seems also to criticize therapists and their sometimes unorthodox, even cruel treatments, as well as seek justification, or at least understanding, for aggressive behavior in a traumatized childhood. This only partly worked: Brian is pictured so conniving and relentless, and his killing-spree, especially in the last 20 minutes, is so over the top, that every attempt to sympathize fails.

What we get is a rather unbalanced story: for a regular horror flick there's way too much psychological digging in the past, while for a serious drama-with-a-message the gore more and more dominates all other, maybe well-meant, intentions of the makers. What didn't help is the over-all clumsy acting, only the young version of Brian was convincingly played by Jonathan Tysor as this sinister little boy, brooding on evil. The abrupt ending of the movie suited the rest: we are left almost literally in mid-air when Brian confronts another (his last?) victim. And then? Are we to suppose that now Brian has conquered his demons and will live happily ever after? It feels as if the makers didn't know either and simply decided to call it a day.

Mediocre kind of a thriller extremely mild horror, just ok at best!!
joiningjt28 January 2021
No horror except for some violence but that's not horror it wasn't scary ever , no evil spirits or monsters, just some I guess revenge violence. Acting was adequate and story was nothing new, it's not a bad movie just ok. It's on Amazon and I watch 3 movies every day so no biggie. If I had to pay I'd pass but for free it's worth 1 watch. Some people I've seen gave it a higher rating so you might like it a lot. Like I said worth watching once .

One of the worst films yet
jasonperla8 December 2021
I actually regret watching this film and I don't know why anyone thinks it's great. I don't care that this guy's life is a mess, he's as crazy and cruel as he always was, and the producers didn't plan to get rid of him, which is so upsetting and offensive. I just hope we can see him suffer soon.

Thought provoking and thrilling
RILEY198029 October 2020
This is not your typical campy Halloween horror flick but an exciting, scary journey into the mind of a killer. Killer Therapy explores the question of what makes a killer through the story of Brian Langston. Brian, already suffering from his own issues, gets passed on from one therapist to another. Instead of helping Brian, each therapist slowly drives him insane until he snaps. Now he's seeking revenge on everyone who has done him wrong. Will anyone escape his wrath? If you're a horror fan, you will love not only the frightening kill scenes but the classic horror star cameos speckled throughout the thrill ride.

How are killers made?
Arshr7329 October 2020
Well this movie is a great exploration of the consequences of trauma and takes it to a wild place. Even with the horrific scenes of killing, there's sensitivity and ultimately makes a statement about good and evil or right and wrong in the world. Horror and psychological thriller fans, must see!!

Slasher film with and 80's feeling for today
shagee797719 September 2020
Wow when I saw the previews of this I thought it looked cool. But with my experience I said all these legends Adrienne King, PJ Soles, Thom Mathews and always enjoyable Daeg Farch, chances are I will be disappointed. But oh I was wrong. Barry Jay is an amazing filmmaker and really brings out the best in all his actors. Nobody outshines anybody, they are all brilliant and give some of the best performances of there careers.

Brian is a mess. He is not really wrapped to tight. We see from his disturbing adolescence (Jonathan Tysor)to and adult psychopath (Michael Qeliqi). From the beginning as a child Brian was different. His father really doesn't show him any kind of love or understanding and his mother is in denial. A newly adopted sister doesn't help. Total jealously escalated that he is not loved.

Brian is involved with numerous violent incidences that connect him and therapy is agreed. He is bounced from numerous therapists and we are taken on a journey through his insanity unfolding. After his father comes to terms that the mother is useless and covers his crazy tendencies they go to a therapist. Thom Mathews gives one of his best performances to date and shows his versatility here as a genuine great actor Destin for more prime roles.

First off is a child molester who use his role as a device to feed on his sick tendencies. Dr. Keller molests him but is left to the imagination. He is a highly regarded therapist and never suspected. Next is Dr. Lewis (P.J. Soles) starts it off and senses and diagnose rage with sociopathic tendencies and some serious violent episode of rage. How cool to see P.J. such a brilliant role. She really chews the scenery and does what she does best. Makes us love her.

Now my sweet spot is for a memorable long awaited performance from Adrienne King. Adrienne plays Mrs. Perkins a kindhearted Guidance Counselor. She has very good intentions and only wants the best for Brian. But it maybe a little to late or above what she is capable of. Adrienne is Alice out of Camp Crystal lake. This is what if Alic3 lived and went on to become a guidance Counselor. I know Adrienne and she is just a wonderful person and throws it all in this role and really has us feeling and believing who she is.

There is a really cool scene, without giving to much away. Where Daeg Farch from Rob Zombie Halloween has the tables turned on him from his role from Halloween. Dawg is a really fun actor to watch and hope this movie finds him more roles. I love this actor and has a certain edge to him that's always a joy to watch.

The movie is such a homage to classic slasher flicks and also with a new twist so sensitively portrayed in this movie. It shows mental illness but takes the subject seriously and with heart. Barry Jay is a brilliant filmmaker and should be followed and Praised with his work.

Excellent story, acting and cinematography is brilliant and above normal genre expectations. I was itching for a mo ie like this for awhile and my film prayers were answered. While not going over the top yet not lacking violence and typical genre expectations I truly loved and recommend this movie.

Take a look and tell everyone. Check out Killer Therapy. You get a great movie and get to revisit with some ole friends. I only hope there is a Killer Therapy 2 in the works.

Very interesting and very edge of your seat.
maverickcowboy12 November 2020
This was a movie of epic proportions. It was quite the journey into the mind of a distrubed individual and the actions taken afterwards. I still do not understand why people have to walk so zombie-like when they are in a dangerous situation. I felt sympathy for the killer and it was somewhat distrubing. The kid who polayed Brian in the beginning. WOW-so crrepy. Great acting job!!

Corny but it's supposed to be!! Good film
abbafan-1696024 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It's actually a good movie, yes it's corny but it's supposed to be that way it's a B-movie I really enjoyed it, my whole family did. People complain a lot when you watch it, go into it thinking that it's not supposed to be a perfect movie and then you will see that it's really not that bad. Honestly stop being a baby and just watch the film, STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT EVERYTHING PEOPLE!! Obviously not the best acting but that's not so bad and I'm really glad Pj Soles is back to acting she did really good in this film.
