Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • Players can shoot enemies with a wide array of weapons and gadgets. Graphic amounts of blood are shown. Severe violence.
  • However, the goal is not to kill as much enemies as possible but to conquer and defend an objective. The game focuses on the horrors of war and doesn't glorify it. It shows the perspective of the Germans side and shows that not all Germans are bad and are just forced to bad things. Most of them are just trying to do their job.
  • While the game encourages distant combat, you can melee people which result in you using a blunt(cricket bats, shovels, and other blunt of objects) to brutally stab someone. There is some blood, but extremely gross sound effects.
  • There is lots of blood in the environments. In the single player campaign(only), when you eliminate enemies(usually through stabbing), you can see blood spray in the environments. There are also some gory moments, including gored men being shoveled into the snow(not clearly seen) and stacks of people with blood all over the place.(implying that they were executed).
  • In the multiplayer, it is different. When you shoot someone, there are graphic blood spurts. Blood can spray and stain environments. When bleeding out you will see blood pouring out of your body on to the ground. Grenades do not cause dismemberment because there is a revive mechanic.
  • Very violent. About as violent as the call of duty franchise.
  • No gore or dismemberment at all, just blood.

Profanity

  • Strong language throughout in Under No Flag(war story). Multiplayer is even worse.
  • Profane words are used liberally. These include f*ck, c*nt, sh*t, and other milder profanities. Countries speak their native language and there only subtitles in the single player. Many of the swear words in german are cognates, so you can pretty easily guess what it means. Anyways in the singleplayer campaign it is easy to learn the badwords through the subtitles. Even if you don't understand Germans, the British swear like its the end of the world if they don't.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some drinking/smoking shown in cutscenes

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The multiplayer should be ok for 13 years old. However the campaign is admittedly much more brutal so nothing stops children from deciding to go to the campaign. Battlefield is better suited for highschoolers or older middle school students.
  • Campaign can be slightly emotional, nothing really that bad though.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • It's got quite a bit of blood and the profanity is quite bad. I enjoy it the war story's have a lot of violence though not as much as call of duty but if I had to say age wise probably mature 12 or 13 year olds but probably better to keep subtitles off in the "under no flag" mission but with subtitles probably best for 15+
