I liked the opening act, and they final one because Kate McKinnon was excellent but the writing overall was weak. Most of it was not funny. Akwafina was good but again the material was weak.

This season is super lame so far except for the opening with Matt Damon. I have no idea who the host was for the show, never saw her anywhere before and she didn't impress at all. I like diversity, but can we please get some talented artists? There's plenty of comedians from very diverse background. This show also needs new writers. I am a liberal and I'm tired of so many politics driven skits, they were funny shortly after Nov 16, but there has been too much repetition over time that now it's just boring. I hope other networks needs to swoop in and grab this opportunity and start competing shows. This is a new low.

I have not seen a worse episode of SNL, including Trump's episode. Awkwafina is a fine actor in anything else, but live sketch comedy is not one of them, the skits she's in felt like they sufferered due to her poor performance, though the skits weren't as strong as usual to begin with. Besides the cold open, commercial, and weekend update, the rest of the show was hard to watch. You're bound to have some bad episodes every once in a while especially when a show runs so long but this episode felt like they gutted everyone and brought in a new crew.

The sketches were duds and seemed like the writers were very uninspired this week. It was cringe worthy watching Awkwafina blatantly just read off the prompter while playing what seemed like the same unfunny character in all of her sketches. The only portion of this episode worth watching is weekend update.
This show is no longer that good.

Political humor and Weekend Update are still generally entertaining. Other sketches very weak. Music is just garbage. Travis Scott hits the auto-tune and justs drones on. I just fast-forward through the music now. Used to be a place where you saw great cutting edge acts. Now it's just pop trash.
