Sandalwood's been churning out quite a number of female oriented films this year with Devaki & D/O Parvathamma being the recent two. Mahira also is an addition to this list.

The story of this film is about a woman, who is on the run from two groups - a gang of killers and an investigation bureau. While on the run, she has the responsibility of protecting her daughter and she uses her expert survival skills to escape from them. What is her real identity and why are these groups after her ? The answer is shown in the movie quite well.

The film has some really good action sequences and impressive cinematography paired with an impactful background score akin to Hollywood thrillers. But the film unfortunately fails to keep the viewer engaged due to its weak storyline. The film begins on an alluring note but slowly loses steam and the thrill factor gets diminished considerably. Also there are some plot holes which add to the negatives.

The casting of the film is quite impressive. Virginia Rodrigues plays a brilliant role as the skilful and protective mother. Her action scenes where she displays her quick reflexes will leave you amazed. Chaitra Achar gives her best performance as the tomboy daughter and she rides the bullet motorbike almost effortlessly. Raj Shetty has performed well as usual, churning out some humorous sequences.

Overall this movie tries hard to come out as an engaging action thriller but the feeble storyline doesn't allow it to succeed much. Thriller movie fans can give this a try though!

I literally know what it takes to make a movie !!! But things aren't going pretty well here. how ever 1time movie. But can't assure it won't make you feel bore.

Good storyline and all but tons of technical faults in the movie like for example the action scenes appears very budget. I just watched the first 30 mins and felt like this movie is made by some fresh university student who just submitted his/her dissertation.

Very well directed and produced movie. Story line is gripping, fresh and not an old wine in a new bottle. Grab a large drink and a big bowl of pop corns before you find your seat because once the movie starts, you will be hooked onto it till the end. A real treat.

If you don't have enough budget why you make this type of films. Because due to low budget movie quality is worst and action sequences looks like plastic and acting is not up to the mark and if you don't have enough information on intelligence agencies then don't defame them I think disaster spy movie of Kannada

Mahira is sure to delight discerning movie-goers everywhere. It has several things going for it. The story is meaty, with suspense maintained through to the end. It's two protagonists -- both female! -- are strong yet sympathetic, drawing us in from the first frame to the last; newcomer Chaitra Achar, in particular, is a fabulous find and is sure to have a glittering career ahead. The songs are mellifluous and meaningful and fit unobtrusively into the story, and there is a freshness about the direction and the locations that make this a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Superb suspense, unique story-line very well made, such a fabulous production.

Long due action suspense thriller finally in KFC. Refreshing new concept coupled with Mum and daughter sentiment in a subtle way. Amazing background score, songs are melodious. Chaitra Achar is the future star, wonderful acting skills. Main characters have done really well. Debut director has done tremendous job, more expected from him in future. For sure keeps you on seat edge for the entire length of movie, whole story is narrated as events in 3 days...that shows the powerful screenplay in the film. Do not miss out!!

Premier show in London was a sold out, everybody loved it!!! KFC needs films like this...

Yessss... Long wait never disappointed... Thrilled to watch till end... Cinematography excellent... Feels happy to watch how practically a Mother tries herself to save her daughter. Which can relate to our life. More than our expectations... Completely enjoyyyyyedddd....

Such a good movie after some time. Mahira is a full action movie led by good acting and amazing story telling. Every scene in the movie is connected. Nice direction by Mahesh Gowda and very good cinematography

Mahira is one of the rarest Kannada movie in the recent times to have a very unique storyline. It's a suspense thriller that keeps the audiences on their toes till the end. It has scenes packed with actions, but none of the action scenes are glorified, this sets the movie apart from other Kannada films. It is a well balanced movie that entertains the audience until the end.

Wow! Mahira is an instance of a movie in recent times which depicts that gripping scripts and performances steal the show despite any commercial parameters or stardom. So many debutantes including the crew, yet the tremendous effort contributed by each one of them hooks the audience throughout the screentime. The thriller presentation by director debut director Mahesh is simple yet neat, crisp and fresh. Strong Characterisations "irrespective of gender" is "just remarkable" elevating the beauty of the script. A huge applause to the Debutantes VirginiaRodrigues and ChaithraAchar have lived their roles to the fullest. It's difficult to get your eyes off their performances and it's difficult to say that it was their debut roles. A special mention of stunt sequences by a character (surprise) is very realistic which is also an important asset to the movie - appreciations to the stunt master Chethan Dsouza. Raj B shetty has a different dimension to his characterisation which he pulls it off with ease. Music & background score is soothing, non-disappointing and stunning cinematography is a decent blend. Will be in for surprises & twists yielding a classy presentation!

Surely this will raise the bar of producing movies in Kannada to come out with innovative and different genres of scripts. Kudos to the producer Vivek Kodappa and the team for the wonderful Kannada classic in recent times.

Stunning story and strong action packed sequences by a talented lady theatre artist Virginia Rodrigues yet so subtle on her motherly compassion- well balanced. Chaithra's role is aptly portrayed and has lived her best. Raj B Shetty also has a strong message oriented characterisation conveyed subtly. Some scenes involving him were so convincing especially a "normal stammer" during a telephonic conversation is the essence of an honest natural screenplay and direction. The direction of a thriller with no violence against women ; instead with realistic stunt sequences where necessary is a visual retreat and another biggest highlight. Songs and background score was very different from routine and calm. Dubbing modulations of couple of dialogues (emotional part) in the climax could have been better. Encouraging such quality projects with fresh talent ( with many debutants in most departments) will definitely bring out innovative and fresh scripts in Kannada even
