While the cases featured in the show are tragic Howard Greenberg, his wife and his colleagues are superb 'characters'. Very entertaining. Thoroughly recommended and has potential to become a classic.

I part-watched this through my fingers. This guy has to be seen to be believed. At first, I thought that it was a mocumentary. But, no, it's not

I actually loved watching it!

Great, very watchable, clever creative, realistic filming. Please, can we have a lot more? Howard is real character!

Superb hatchet job
emrys-948-23895827 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The first episode very neatly shows him up for what he is. The NY police officer on a charge of discharging a firearm is not offering any credible defence against the charge, and it is obvious that she was always going to be convicted. Under those circumstances a good lawyer would advise her to either find a better defence, or plead guilty and do the time.

But no, he carries on, taking her money, for every implausible trick and maneuver, none of which work and were clearly never going to work, while she sells everything she has and goes broke. When she has no more money, not a cent, he introduces her to the public defender. He really really cares, but only when you have money to pay him to care.

Not quite Better get Saul but this very open and frank account of a NY criminal is entertaining.

Something completely different

Excellent series. Pity there are only 4 episodes. I never imagined a lawyer like this could exist. Taking on apparently hopeless cases he certainly gets the best outcomes for them. Some people might find his coarse language offensive, but I certainly did not. It's part of the man's character. However, I would have liked to have seen more detail of the cases and of the court proceedings.

What a great show

This is a great show Investigation Discovery where is season 2?? Many ID shows are cheap and cheesy, they have lost me. The quality shows they had like Emmy winning Crime to Remember was canceled after a couple of seasons...don't ask. Last Chance lawyer is excellent and hope it's not canceled like other quality shows ID has canceled. Tired of stupid Soap like crime documentaries on ID.

Double jeopardy (a much tighter 90 minute edit would have been better)
frukuk11 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This would have worked much better as a slimmed-down single programme of 90 minutes, rather than 4 episodes of 45 minutes. There was far too much repetition (e.g. Howard's aphorisms, his wife's commentary on their marriage at the exercise class) and there were too many cases covered in too little depth.

In essence, the cases seemed almost secondary to what was going on in Howard's life (e.g. feeding animals, collecting toys).

As far as the cases are concerned, it seems that the moral of the story is to request a trial by judge (rather than by jury), if you want to get a rational verdict; but even in the specific case, we don't get to see the sentencing and so don't get to see if the outcome was truly reasonable or not.

No outcome

Warning: Spoilers
I like the show but we never know the results on some of his cases. It's frustrating. Maybe they could at least show a scroll or something at the end so we know the outcome.
