The triumphant return of Star Wars
enzocittadino22 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I am blown away by this show so far, every episode keeps getting better and better. So many parts of this show just sent chills up my spine. From the return of the classic CIS from the clone wars (super battle droids are way more horrific and genocidal then I remembered them) to the mandalorians coming in and kicking jet pack-fueled ass, this show has been everything I've wanted in a Star Wars show. Grit. This is what makes Star wars so unique compared to other sci-Fi properties, and the series has lost its way in this regard for a long Time. This show, and this episode in particular, brought me back into the world that defined my childhood and adolescence, and I couldn't be more happy. I have spoken

Had to make an account after watching this episode. I was very encouraged after the first two episodes, but still a bit hesitant. After episode 3... I'm all in. This is a must watch.

Chapter 3: The Sin
ryandonohue-1235422 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
At the helm directing this episode is the wonderful Deborah Chow(she's going to be directing the Obi-Wan series btw) and let me just say she didn't disappoint. The buildup in the first 20 minutes of the show is masterfully paced and eventually leads to the climax action scene that's choreographed perfectly and filled with emotion. This was the best episode of the series that seems to top itself with each episode. I can't wait till next Friday.

Man let me tell you something

This episode is insanely polished. I loved every second; found myself on edge during most scenes.

With episodes like this It really made me wish episodes were longer but 33 minutes of run-time was all this episode needed.

Blown away
damien-7851922 November 2019
They should have released the first 3 episodes as a movie kind of like what they did with the clones wars. This episode was pretty epic and probably one of the best things I have seen in Star Wars since the fight with Darth maul and palpatine in the clone wars. Plenty of tension and action and now set up for the story to come. Can't wait for the next episode

Reviving Star Wars
tysgameatraz-1360922 November 2019
This show is reviving Star Wars, it has everything that I could've wanted in a Star Wars show and I can't wait until it becomes much more mainstream because it is so much better than TFA and TLJ. I was on edge in every scene in this episode.

I have spoken.

This is the Star Wars I love!
jdgtc122 November 2019
Just WOW! Thank you to every kid who lived and breathed the original Star Wars growing up. They are obviously now the adults behind this series.

After the sad and bitter disappointment that was TLJ, I was so discouraged with the franchise... This episode is everything good, that the 10 year old boy in me loves about Star Wars! "THE MANDALORIAN" is my New Hope!

Really everyone?
Lost_in_the_dark25 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I never write reviews, usually I find someone else that shares my opinion and that's enough. But how does no one else find this a little...eh.

These first three episodes have just been video game cut scenes with some John wick copying action. He finds baby Yoda then spends an episode getting his ship repaired by going on side quest after side quest.

When he finally gives up the bounty he uses his earnings to up his armour and weapons. That's video game! He's already pretty unstoppable, let's make him shiny! Also how underwhelming was his little bird missiles. A build up to that?

The other mandalorians coming to save him wasn't earned. A Deus ex machina for sure. So far I couldn't tell you what the plot is besides his literal missions. I don't know what the character wants, what the stakes are or why I should care. That's beginner story writing.

I think everyone is going bananas for this show because it is safe. It's giving you the scenery, non light sabre fight scenes, CGI mixed with puppets and everything else the prequels weren't.

At least the prequels had a plot going after and hour and a half.

I reckon once some sort of twist or plot point actually comes into play you'll be seeing a lot less 10/10's.

As for right now, I'm hate watching a show that I really wanted to like

Decent episode
simsalabeem1 December 2019
It was a decent episode compared to the first two episodes. I give a 6, because the action-scene was a little bit cliché. It felt a little bit more childish than the first two episodes. A little to exaggerated. Besides than the action-scene, it kept the good scenography, good dialoges etc.

I never watched another episode after this one.
julianmx93-5 December 2020
The whole episode felt a college project. Just because you get a little bit of action does not mean it gets a 10/10. The episode is too short, the stakes felt fake, the moments were incredibly predictable and came across as flat out lazy. I thought the first two episodes were all right, but this one was the nail in the coffin for me.

The acting . Visuals. The music. All of it. The storyline is so good. Absolutely blown away. This episode is by far better than the first two. So far, this show is just getting better and better. Also the whole relationship between the baby yoda and the mandalorian is amazing.

DUDE!
jascoward22 November 2019
I watched episode one out of boredom. Then I was annoyed cuz the episodes are only 5 minutes long. The show is so captivating you don't even realize it's been on for half an hour. That's my only complaint. I wish the episodes were longer.

This series is incredibly great. Star Wars at it's finest. Considering even getting rid of DnD in addition, I see a bright future for the franchise.

I salute you, Mr Favreau!
gjowen7522 November 2019
Only a true Star Wars fan could craft such an amazing show. This is by far the best TV series I have seen in a very long time. A must see for fans of sci fi, action, adventure, intrigue.....and I truly hope that Jon Favreau is given free reign on a trilogy of his own. This is the Star Wars I have been waiting for!!

Thank you Deborah Chow, Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Greig Fraser, and everyone involved. I was very cautious to trust this show after Game of Thrones and The Last Jedi. I like the prequels, but this feels like OT Star Wars. You have the best show on TV. #ThisIsTheWay

The Rise of Skywalker? WHO CARES!
annlyelsfirst22 November 2019
The Rise of Skywalker is coming out in exactly four weeks and guess what...I don't care! The Mandalorian is everything I could've dreamed of in a Star Wars project. Gritty, funny, epic, and it's got the cutest alien I've ever seen! The Mandalorian is going to be talked about for years to come. Episode 4, here we come!!!

Look, check my reviews I enjoyed E01 was less enamered with E02 but this episode is simply stunning. The flow is amazing, the action breathtaking and the story expected but great.

Maybe the score didn't blow me away but I'm not going to quibble, an amazing 30 or so minutes.

Wow....

Strong game changing episode
amesmonde22 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The conflicted Mandalorian violates his bounty hunter code and goes on a rescue mission with grave consequences.

The Sin is another strong instalment as Mando grapples with giving the baby of his last bounty over. Director Deborah Chow's offering oozes atmosphere of the fallen Empire and hints of the new Republics lack of reach and power to bring peace to the galaxy. In the third episode Mando shoots, stabs, electrocutes, burns and explodes his way through Stormtroopers and bounty hunters like butter.

The sets and special effects here are first rate, the narrative is strong and the action comes thick and fast. It also spends time to explore the Mandalorian's culture and beliefs and fans are treated to a great shootout in the closing act with help from his armoured friends.

Carl Weathers gets a little more screen time. More trilogy Star Wars sub-characters appear which is a joy for fans. Packed with nods, the Empires science devision hark back to Rogue One, IT-O Interrogator droid from New Hope, glimpse of an order 66-like purge and even a battle droid from the prequel films to name a few.

Overall, the series goes from strength to Mandalorian forged beskar armour strength, successfully expanding the Star Wars universe.

Smoke and mirrors. The bad guys get shot. The good guys mostly stand around and don't get hit.

Formulaic Disney tripe but enjoyable nonetheless
YourAverageReviewer25 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The first two episodes build up a beautiful world and interesting characters. On episode 3 interesting characters are thrown aside to force the plot forward.

From the first two episodes we see a character based around loyalty and honesty. He has a job to do, and he's solely interested in that job. He's thrown that all aside for a child who he should have no problem forgetting about based on his character.

The build-up led to no reward since it's illogical. There was no reasoning for him to do what he did which completely ruined all of what the mandalorian stands for as they're trying to represent it as. "For us" - yet he completely ruined their entire hideout. They all show up to save him which is also illogical. He broke the code against the bounty hunters AND his own people. Is there any consequences? No.

He flies away happily ever after. I'm not buying it, but I'm interested. A great show turned into something very Disney... and for that, I don't respect it nor do I enjoy their formulaic plot. But is it enjoyable? Yes. Is it logical? No.

And I like having both.
