- Jamie Reagan: I think I know why Sean's been acting out lately. He doesn't want Jack to leave.
- Danny Reagan: Funny way to show it by ragging on him all the time.
- Jamie Reagan: He's been showing it all the time - by getting busted, the trouble at school. Sean's trying to be a problem so that Jack'll decide to stick around and keep his kid brother in line.
- Danny Reagan: And you know this how, Mr. Freud?
- Jamie Reagan: 'Cause I did the same thing when you left for the Marines.
- Danny Reagan: Oh, what happened? Did you get a B-minus on your test?
- Jamie Reagan: A-minus. It was a dark time.
- Anthony Abetemarco: She's all yours.
- D.A. Detective: You sure you don't want this collar, Abetemarco?
- Anthony Abetemarco: Nah, me and Maude spent have spent enough time together. Besides, I'm gonna take the stand against her.
- D.A. Detective: Like, in public?
- Anthony Abetemarco: Whatever it takes.
- D.A. Detective: Drop by later to get your cuffs.
- Erin Reagan: Mm, might want to wash those first.
- Sid Gormley: Boss, maybe he just hasn't had his defining moment yet.
- Frank Reagan: Defining moment?
- Sid Gormley: As a cop. We all got that one time, that one action, the nickel drops, we all go I love this job.
- Abigail Baker: How long has he been on the job?
- Frank Reagan: A little over four and a half years, which brings his family's total to somewhere around a century of service.
- Abigail Baker: Well, that's quite a legacy.
- Sid Gormley: Yeah, he should be proud, not whiny.
- Frank Reagan: He wasn't whiny, Syd.
- [to Garret]
- Frank Reagan: Is this a first--you, with no opinion?
- Garrett Moore: As is often pointed out, I'm not a cop.
- Frank Reagan: I'm well aware.
- Garrett Moore: So, I have what is certain to be a distinctly, and likely unwelcome, minority opinion.
- Sid Gormley: That you're keeping to yourself? I like that.
- Frank Reagan: Please share.
- Garrett Moore: As a non-cop, I don't go all butterscotch and marshmallows talking about a big cop family.
- Frank Reagan: And therefore?
- Garrett Moore: What if we were talking about a surgeon from a long line of surgeons? Only this surgeon's only a surgeon because he felt pressured to be one? He hates it. But he didn't want to disappoint his family. You want him operating on you?
- Sid Gormley: Garrett, that's not the same thing.
- Garrett Moore: No? What if he's covering you in a police action and the guns come out? Has he ever fired his weapon in the line of duty?
- Sid Gormley: I didn't go through every page in his file.
- Garrett Moore: Let's assume he's one of the 99% in the department who hasn't. What if his partner's life's at stake? Remember, his heart's not in it. Never was.
- Frank Reagan: If he freezes up, that's his defining moment.
