This Is Great TV

Another solid episode for me.

Jennifer Aniston continues to knock it out of the park and is superbly backed by Reece Witherspoon and Steve Carrell. All of the cast are great, but it's Aniston who shines, I love it when she does something more serious like this to remind everyone what a fine actress she is

Steve Carell and Martin Short two brilliant comedians in a very serious scene
I have watched the scene repeatedly and tirelessly and cannot get enough of it. Shows their versatility as actors that go above and beyond simply making people laugh. Brilliant, just brilliant👏👏🙌🏻🙌🏻

Excellent so far. A few nitpick but ultimately a strong show with multiple voices.

I'm surprised by how nuanced this is. The scene between Steve Carell and Martin Short was outstanding...that slow realisation for Mitch about who was sat opposite him. The scene is shaded brilliantly by Mitch's shame...like the penny is dropping with him right there (at least I hope so).

I thought the whole episode was excellent, though the 'take control' boardroom scene was slightly over embellished for me. I liked the essence of the scene, but I'm pretty sure Alex would have been outright fired in that moment for humiliating the CEO in front of all of his underlings.

Can't wait to see Alex and Bradley co-host.

To this other weird guy who had one eye closed watching the show...

Don't you realize that this show is actually for the first time trying to show both sides? It's absolutely not #metoo propaganda. It raises the very valid concern of: Do some women use this movement to cut other peoples careers? I am sure we will see more in this direction as Mitch tries to clear his name.

You really gotta have both eyes closed to not see that.

One of the best episodes ever written for TV

OK. So there's somehow a lot of backlash for this series. Mostly by men. But it's really good and fun and enjoyable. I don't understand how people are calling this dull. I was on the verge of my seat for every episode and this one was the epitome. There's a fantastic monologue by Jennifer Aniston's character. Then there's a dialogue between Reese & Jennifer at the end that's just fantastic and the little moments, the subtle human interactions. The music, the production. It's all great they didn't release it all at the same time. Would've binged all of it.

It's a wake up call

I love that there is the one guy saying that this show is showcasing the #metoo movement. Because of course this couldn't be the real story of how things work, us women have to make it about feminist things. But legit good show. Love all the characters.

Alex (Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley (Reese Witherspoon)

Warning: Spoilers
Favorite scene with

Alex (Jennifer Aniston) - Bradley coming after her after she walks out of rehearsal and gives her her Ashley interview.

Bradley (Reese Witherspoon) - Not happy that she has to go on a Shopping Spree to "Pretty Woman" herself.

TV about real life
possibilitynow202029 July 2021
The writers knocked it out of the park with this one! Alex's speech to the executives was everything many of us ladies have wanted to say many times! Steve Carrols character does a fantastic job of showing the nuance that is what real life is about.

Episode 3
bobcobb3013 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This was the most behind-the-scenes episode yet as we got a glance at how much goes on to making a TV show work. At times it was a bit too much as scheduling and non-stop rehearsals did not always translate to good TV.

Still, this episode added depth to the characters, and the final line for Alex set the stage for a good rest of the first season.

Love it!!!!

The third episode of The Morning Show picks up right where "A Seat at the Table Ended," and Alex is probably the only one pleased about her announcement. But just because Alex has said Bradley (Reese Witherspoon) is her new co-host doesn't mean she will be, right? After all, they have to get Bradley to sign on. Following Alex's big move, Cory (Billy Crudup) takes control and tells the press that Monday will be her and Bradley's first show. And then everyone quickly escapes the event to meet up back at the studio, with Mia (Karen Pittman) keeping Bradley from heading straight for the airport instead and already planning to be her producer. Cory tells Fred that Alex did them a favor. They couldn't get rid of her like they wanted after Mitch, but they'll use Bradley to paint the show in a new light and then push Alex off when it's convenient for them and they don't look like the bad guys. Cory gives it a month. While some may think Alex should apologize for what she did, she does the complete opposite when she goes before the heads of the studio. "The part you guys never seem to realize is you don't have the power anymore," she informs the room full of men. "The news division is held up by my show, and the only thing keeping us afloat is me. Because guess what? America loves me. And therefore I own America." Mitch brings up his suggestion to a director who was also accused, but this man is just awful. ("There's nothing sexy about consent," he says at one point, making even Mitch stop for a moment.) Though he originally wants the man to direct his documentary, he realizes he's the wrong one to work with. After all, one of the women he was with was underage and he wants to prove the women aren't victims. As Mitch sees it, the first wave of men accused were really bad - like the director, who's actually a predator - and the second wave was different - in other words, "not you." Mitch should really just take Chip's advice and hibernate for a few years.

not for everyone
ismaelfer200528 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
What i've noticed with this show, even after the emmy season, is that it's not made for everyone. neither are steve carrell's and mark duplass' performances. talking personally, i related the whole constantly-shouting thing to argentinian tv (my natal country) but i definetely didn't enjoy it as much as i enjoyed the last episodes in which we could only get annoyed if we couldn't stand aniston's brilliant performance as a woman out of her wits or carrell's cringeworthy the-office-like crisis scenes full of tears and laughters out of nowhere. but this episode was just too much. too much anger and fuss all over the place making the environment go hard to watch. even kind of boring due to its monochromatic tension. though, i do believe jennifer aniston and reese witherspoon outshine as their characters. it's the first time i see reese taking the risk of not playing an upper class blonde with her own privileged-person-issues. i also adore mark duplass and billy crudup in their respective roles. and about steve carrell, as i said before, is not for everyone. i can mention carrell, jim carrey, adam sandler and more actors that mean well and i'm sure they got something worth the fuss but personally, i don't sympathize. also, the writing was so accurate, specially during the metoo conversation between two accused men, that was witty and risky for the writers. to sum up, i don't think this was a bad episode, but it just didn't catch me. let's see what the next episodes do to me. 6/10
