Worth the wait
ckluci9 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I blew through the first three episodes. The character development is setting the bar high. Then the script is following suit. Amazing raw take on some very controversial issues. Thank God it's done properly. I had very high expectations for episode 4. It was a make or break for the show, and it did not disappoint. I cannot wait for the next episode.

Balance

Warning: Spoilers
The series is obvioulsy not perfect and has some writing issues (the abortion thing could have been done a kit better) but I think the bar is too high. Some people commented here that it stopped showing both sides of the me too case but I felt the opposite. It was an affair between people working together, she liked him, she just didn't like what that represented. I think it's meant to be ambiguous and to make you think: did he really is the only one to blame. Is there anyone to blame on national tv, outside his marriage? I guess it's on purpose too that Carrel doesnt show up but he will soon.

The show has so many hot topics: stars middle life crisis, media capitalism, filtered reality, Twitter dictatorship, american dream goes wrong and keeps going. I have a feeling they will keep on track.

Speaks Truth to Power
jzaztrow9 November 2019
This episode was one of the best I've seen in a really long time. The characters are acting and reacting true to their nature in the midst of a chaos that is ever-thickening. You won't be disappointed. Witherspoon's Bradley Jackson is like the prophet Amos entering the king's court and serves as a model of truth speaking to power.

Reese Witherspoon absolutely smashed it in the episode, she was fantastic. This was her best performance in the show so far

In the current age, its annoying me to have to wait a week, to see the next episode of a great tv show

Every New Epeside gets better. To lear about what is happening today
Jpintoctr2 December 2019
With this episode the series allow to better understand the conflicting issues confronting the media outlets, mostly transparency vs economic interests and egos. Great series to understand what is happening in our time. The writer, the producer, the director and actors are great, making the story credible and real. Any one interested in social issues and the human nature will learn from the series what are some of the conflicts the media is facing.

The Quality of Acting
GoldenGooner0415 September 2022
I have had this show a while, and just got round to watching it Every Actor is this, the Acting is off the scale, Comedy actors suddenly showing their acting chops and blowing it out of the park And Jennifer always been seem as a OK light drama actress, but boy can she act and sing where has that voice been ?

Reese has done serious heavy stuff before so we know she can act well Steve Carell, who decided he should play this role deserves a medal, he is brilliant.

Also all the bit actors like Nestor never knew his name, seem him in loads is superb.

This is Quality TV of the Highest Order, I just hope it don't run out of ideas, the writing is so good. Can they keep up that level of writing.

Women Power
moviesfilmsreviewsinc11 March 2022
In its first three episodes, The Morning Show clicked most when it showed off its firm grasp of the beats of an actual morning show: the canned banter with occasional glimpses of real chemistry, the hectic control rooms, the tension between network and talent, the complicated and competitive nature of anchors and producers and writers. For Bradley, the two things are synonymous. Her greatest strength, and the thing that has kept her from succeeding in this industry so far, is that she cannot help but tell the truth... the whole truth... and nothing but the truth (often times, very loudly). And, if you can believe this, it's much more fulfilling to watch this earnest but somewhat self-destructive trait of Bradley's become evident over the course of an episode than it is to hear Reese Witherspoon say, "I say whatever I mean, I don't play games, I don't fit the mold," Bradley's first day as co-anchor opens with Alex sitting alone at the desk, faux-wondering where on earth that Bradley could be. Cue Clarkson's "Stronger," as Bradley strides out from stage left, swapping her real nerves for charming "dreams really do come true" nerves. Bradley holds her strained grin as her mom waxes poetic about how she always expected big things for her daughter; Bradley has a flashback to her teen years of her mother yelling, "You better get your s- together, girl, or you're gonna end up sucking d-s under the promenade." It's a rough memory, and Bradley can't shake it. Watching Alex realize over the course of this episode that in an effort to take control of her own situation, she has created a different situation over which she perhaps has even less control, is fascinating. Because, in Bradley, Alex not only has a loose cannon, but a loose cannon she is inexorably tied to. As Bradley thanks Ashley for speaking her truth, Cory looks thrilled, Hannah the booker looks concerningly nauseated, and Alex looks like she's about to burst every blood vessel in her face. She's waiting for Bradley when she walks offstage to whisper angrily in her ear: "I brought you in, I bet on you, I dragged you up out of nowhere... You just put the show and everyone who works here at risk."

That Woman
bobcobb3014 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This show felt the most believable and felt like it was the most "real" episode yet. We saw them tackle the #MeToo movement in a way that was not cartoonish and touched on the very real pain felt by women for too long.

This show is starting to get good, but it still has a long way to go.

Am I the only one who doesn't get it?
kajsijakajsijakajsija9 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Let me start by saying that I really enjoyed the first three episodes. It was interesting, fun to watch, held my attention, there was something going on. However, all that was missing from this third episode and I'm afraid that's the direction this show is heading at.

What was good about it was the fact that they showed both sides of the story. By cutting Steve Carrell out of this episode shows you that they had no intention of showing both sides but rather villainize the other.

I understand that the main goal of this show is to tackle all the cultural events happening in the past few years. But did they really have to include all of it in just 3-4 episodes? Metoo movement, protests, now abortion in this episode? What's next? Are we about to find out that Bradley Jackson is a transgender in the next one?

Also, this idea of this rogue tv host who's super crazy and will do anything its just lazy writing. It was fine once. But if it keeps happening two or three times per episode it's just gonna get boring.

And finally this scene where she interviews the "victim" and builds so much intensity and drama. I just didn't get it. I guess you're supposed to feel sorry for her? But her story made it perfectly clear that nobody forced her into anything and she really made her own decisions. Yet, this moment was supposed to be the one where we realize that Steve Carell's character is actually a horrible human being and we should hate him. It just didn't work for me.

Honestly I'm hugely disappointed what this episode had to show. I really hope this is not the direction the show is taking. The only reason I started (and will probably continue) watching the show is because of Reece, Jen and Steve. I feel like that cast can make a show literally about anything and still make it good. I just hope it changes direction soon.

Apple TV is a must because the most fun Jen's friends will soon appear on the show, rest assured you will laugh your heart out in awe.

Warning: Spoilers
"The Morning Show " my personal opinion fan review. What distracts me with Jen An as an actress was her low tone alto voice, so this is really her now, and her latest copyright 2014 chunky face. The genre was drama, but with Jen An on the show, I couldn't take Alex Levy (Jen's character) seriously. Why? Funny for me is when the actress was playing a role with overconfidence in her current position, when in fact, people around her see her fall short of her character example being a host that makes her funny. Jen was splendid in her comedic timing though she was ruder, more aggressive, and violent in her performance for her indoor dramatic personality. But I realize later on after watching 3rd repeat of Episode 1,2, 3, and 4 Season I, that what she did justify what was needed to define her character as crazy. While Reese W for me was a better actress with seamless, refined with consistency in her role-playing. No wonder she was an Oscar winner. Jen An shines once again on Episode 3. For me, Episode 3 is my fave episode as director David Frankel's work. Jen An was so funny to me when she said that, "I OWN AMERICA..." Who was funnier? Both Jen An and Reese are funny, each has a respective highlights in the show. Jen An is funny on her facial expressions and body movements while Reese is funny when she speak those clever funny lines of the script, she is like the 1.5 times of 'Monica Geller' strong character that Jen An's character had to contend with. For me, Season I: Episode 1 is 8.5 out of 10; Episode 2 is 9 out of 10; Episode 3 is 10 out of 10 Episode 4 is 9 out of 10. I can live without Netflix without Friends, so I am subscribing to Apple TV plus because further episode of The Morning Show is something I am going to enjoy in the future. I like Alex and Chip's chemistry as working mates. If they will not put Jen An in an Apple TV plus show, I will stop subscribing. Don't worry, TMS must go on because I know Jen An had a wholesome enjoyable show with millions of followers around the world even if TMS isn't star-studded cast. If only 8 million follow Jen, Apple could sell them with worth 500 USD cellphone each, the company could gross 4 billion USD or an estimated profit of 1 billion. 20 episodes of TMS are only worth 340 million USD. TMS is a long feature film commercial of Apple products like iPhones and Mac just like Friends promote Calvin Klein in the TV sitcom. Plus a monthly subscription of Jen's 8 million followers to Apple TV plus could bring 39,920,000 USD gross income every month. While another 8 million followers of Reese will subscribe to Apple TV plus, so a projected of less than 80 million USD a month gross income. The cost of TMS might be 68 million USD a month for four episodes, so there is a monthly net profit of more of less 10 million USD from subscribers alone. Jen An and Reese have solid followers around the globe, Apple value their worth among actresses and producers who could deliver high-quality software. They just did, their props and costumes were high-end expensive so close to a real world. TMS makes a reality TV fictitious and very funny coz of Rachel and Jill Green chemistry. TMS makes a Saturday Night Live show dramatic. They make an Oprah Show a fake reality. TMS could do anything under the sun, from weather reporting, cooking, and dancing to singing a fake reality TV show. Therefore it was the most amazing show to watch. Apple TV is a must because the most fun Jen's friends will soon appear on the show, rest assured you will laugh your heart out in awe.

Major step in the wrong direction
aarongnr8 November 2019
I really loved the first three episodes, ESPECIALLY because they showed BOTH sides of the coin.

In this episode they go all in on "it's all the mens fault", EVEN THOUGH they make it incredibly obvious that Mitch didn't push that woman to do anything, and that it was basically only her own mind that played her. I mean, we don't know how it actually was, but as it is portrayed it could be either way. There is no question, that Mitch's relationship with that woman was inappropriate, but he's a human after all, isn't he?

I hope they go back to also showing Mitch's side. What I loved about this show so far is that it has no clear political position.

That last line did you knew ? was so out of context that it shot the episode down the sink. The facial expressions, the last scene lacks the word integrity.

That story in Vegas didn't sound like rape. She went to a guys hotel room on her own. I no way should anyone feel sorry for her. I'm really disappointed that this show is going to make Mitch into a monster

This show is amazing!
kinzerjf4 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The drama on so many levels is intriguing. But the tension of that interview, the way it just blew up the "culture" facade, and captured the essence of sexual abuse, and also the growing fear in Alex that she might be losing control! I'm just on the edge of my seat holding my breath watching this.

Good not great
myaallen-4125616 November 2023
I like the show but this whole feeling bad after the fact is a little unbelievable. Why can a person do something they weren't forced and then say it's the other person's fault . Makes no sense how it's allowed and can ruin someones life . We all know the real person Steve carell is betraying in real life. And this is a case of not a real victim. They had a choice and I'm not a fan of how it's getting publicity from Bradley . It was a little cringe and I wanted to skip it because this is the reason me too is getting a bad name . People feel guilty for their choices and then blame . The society needs to get away from blame and own up to ones mistakes.

Garbage television making more garbage to cringe over
tystina18 November 2019
The first 3 episodes held promise. I was excited to see how Reese would handle her new position next to Alex on live TV. It was too predictable to watch her go off script, but the direction they take is unnecessary. Completely turned off with this show now. It lost the fun interplay between the girls versus the guys and the power struggle shifts to a place that kills the momentum. I am no longer excited to see the next episode, this unfortunate mis-step took a fatal turn for me.
