A new shot of the Jedi council seen during the opening montage features Master Depa Billaba and her young Padawan Caleb Dume, who will survive Order 66 as shown in The Bad Batch (2021), and change his name to Kanan Jarrus as seen in Star Wars: Rebels (2014).
Between the last appearance of Maul (no longer 'Darth') in this series in The Lawless (2013) and the start of the "Siege of Mandalore" arc, another four-part story arc was planned, collectively titled "Son of Dathomir". Although never finished in animated form, this story was published as a four-issue comic book series by Dark Horse Comics in 2014, after the series ceased production for Cartoon Network.
Although this story arc was developed during the original run of the Clone Wars TV series, several new sequences were added for the final version, including the fact that Anakin has modified Ahoska's sabers to be blue.
Ahsoka sports a new Mandalorian-inspired look, featuring Beskar armor plates, the hexagonal "Heart of Beskar" shape (Ka'rta Beskar in Mandoa) on her chest and the same rectangular lights in her headband that Bo-Katan wears.
There is no 'Jedi fortune cookie' message that opens the show.
