I don't even

Have you ever watched something completely ridiculous and non-sensical, but you just don't care because it's so fun? That's this show.

Cute bit of fluff

Warning: Spoilers
Great as background noise. I do like the lead actors. But I'm confused with the way it ends...is there a season 2 in the works? This would have been better as a movie, honestly. Writing is loose and I abandoned it after episode 3 for a while. I only returned because I wanted to see Jasper Liu's smile.

Waiting for season two
gullkaktus5 January 2021
Considering the open ending, I can only assume there will be a second season of the show. There are a few loose ends that needs to be resolved. Despite the cute and unrealistic depiction of what is the ferocious world of the maffia, which I could overlook, I quite enjoyed this little sweet tale, although it doesn't leave any lasting impression.

Ding ding

A top gangsters daughter goes to work as a bodyguard for an actor she is smitten with against her fathers wishes. Lighthearted drama which has the occasional comedic moment and is well acted but overall the story is not that entertaining. Hopefully it may improve in season two as the story develops.

Should Have Been Longer
jungalist21 May 2020
Definitely a cute one, but there were a lot of points that weren't touched on in what I believe was due to the shortness of the show. I would definitely watch a reboot or even a second season.

A definite win and seriously waiting for the next
sionlim14 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
On the 1st episode itself, you'd already instantaneously understand that this is an Asian slapstick comedy. Not to the level of Stephen Chow yet, but enough for it to be a really nice comedy romance flick series.

This is definitely thought thru properly and any Asian who has been watching similar kind of comedy romance drama would get it straight in the first half of the 1st episode. I personally applaud the director and writer on their efforts to bring this to life and to us here in Asia to watch. Understand that it's one of the latest efforts to try out caring new dreams in Asia in order to capture more audience here. Well you definitely won me and my friends so far.

Jasper Liu and Eugenie Liu are actually new faces to me and my friends here (out of China / Taiwan) and they are out instant hits with their acting. I personally actually thought / mistaken Eugenie for a veteran and pro actress who has been making 10s of movies and dramas already. Can see somewhat some elements of Angelababy style in her acting while she tries to embed her own characteristics to bring the character to life. She definitely won my heart fma 2 thumbs up and laughters all around with her work. Definitely not an easy role to play, ranging from a serious bodyguard / gangster, a spoilt brat, a giggly girl in love, a true maiden struck with love, a bubbly BFF, heart broken maiden (this one needs some work I felt) and finally the final truly found meaning of love look.

The rest of the cast are quite pro at their work (except for the sidekick gangsters, which you of see that it has limited role to play).

Jasper as the main male lead, quite brings to life the role of a fresh guy falling in love or finding out what real love means. Probably not gonna mention much on this because altho the acting is good, it's pretty predictable. Hence between the 2, that's why I mentioned more on Eugenie as it seems she's the heart of the series.

Ms Tien Sin and Cecilia Choi brought in their a-game as supporting roles and sub-plots / stories in. I found myself waiting for the next parts of these sub stories curiously, wondering when it'll be unveiled. If they bring it in with further development to the story, it's a definite worth the wait.

Chang Shu-Wei is in fact the glue to the slapstick part of the series. With his natural comedic act, he certainly brings in smiles. Tho the plot and role is pretty predictable, still, the reactions and expressions brought in is definitely a hit. Sub-plots / story of his romance is an interesting try for Netflix to test LGBT acceptance in Asia, which in my opinion is definitely OK to go. Many Asian countries pretty much accepted (just not making an issue with it anymore, not legally), and since this is also part comedic, it adds somemore hints of romance factor into the series.

Ultimately, seriously, just 6 episodes? Is this just testing waters? The cliff hanger "ending", is a real pain (maybe good for you producers to catch some reaction), but really, getting me waiting for the next ones. Ending with my "wtf? Where is the rest??? "

BTW, you guys at Netflix could do more with promoting this more. No ads or efforts to advertise this at all?

Very Cute and funny, but where the heck is Season 2?
menaraheel-8445827 September 2021
I was so disappointed when I finished episode 6 only to discover there's nothing after it :( Producers and Netflix, please give us a second season!

Ruined by an overused trope!
divemabini24 November 2023
Regardless of how it ends, or doesn't end, this very promising and charming show was ruined in 10 seconds in episode 5. I'm talking about that insanely overused and tiresome trope of agent/manager stating: "Don't you understand what the paparazzi will do to this person (enter love interest's name here) if you continue this relationship?" Then causing the lead to do something completely out of character, simply to add heart-break to the story, where NONE was needed.

You needn't look further than "Doona" or "Record of Youth" (two Korean Dramas) to see how this ridiculously overused plot device ruins shows. It is like the writers have never been in love, and don't understand a flipping thing about how you weather the good AND THE BAD in a relationship. They think you're dumb, and pander to you with "this relationship will be too hard if we let it continue". So unrealistic, and so patronizing.

I would like nothing than to see every writer who uses this abomination of a plot device fired and never allowed to work again.

Definitely a Series to watch
kmhlbeavis4 August 2022
I was getting into and then wham series ended. Netflix are you at it again? This needs to be completed. It has been 3 years and no renewal? This is why you are losing subscribers. When you have a hit on your hands you must finish it. A definite must watch, it is very good.

Would've liked an ending
elbehar18 May 2023
It starts out perfc. You get to know the story , the characters and just when you start to enjoy yourself it finishes. Thr ending okay, but there's so much left to the imagination. It stops abruptly and you are left with the "is that all?" feeling.

The episodes are not long and tou can watch the whole thing in one sitting.

Though I enjoyed myself for the only reason that it was unfinished I will not give it a better rating than 5. I usually don't comment on those I rate less than 6, but here I had to share how a show can be ruined e en though it has great story line can but the ending leaves you empty handed.

Watch and see.

Never watched asian dramas before, but this is a must watch!
Zephrey14 April 2020
Honestly this is just hilarious. You'll get a good feel of what kind of humour it is in the first episode. So if it's not you type of comedy then you can drop it right away. I get why Netflix marketed this as a love drama, but this is more of a comedy than anything else. There's 6 episodes around 40 minutes each, it tells a the story of the daughter of a mafia leader wanting to work as a body guard for a famous actor because she's a huge fangirl that has a crush on him. You'll either love it or hate it. I don't think there's really an in between. There's quite a lot of cheesy moments in it, but I guess that's expected. I consider this a hidden gem on Netflix.

Tropes galore
geewhiz4625 March 2024
This series tries to combine comedy and drama and fails on both attempts. Angie is the daughter of a Triad boss - she is rebellious and doesn't want the marriage her father plans for her- She is in love with an actor - Yu-Hi (Jasper Liu) and manages to become close to him via his managers request. Her father sends out his gang to catch her - they fail - so many times it becomes predictable and boring. The gang is led by her adoptive brother - Giu - and guess what - he is gay and falls in love with a shop assistant - he stands outside and takes photographs of his butt in a distastefully crass scene. The language is coarse and unnecessary - and the comedy is not really funny. The series is unfinished (Thank you Netflix) and quite frankly I couldn't care a jot - I have no interest in what happened to any of them. I watched it for Jasper Liu - he has a beautiful smile that reaches his eyes every time - I don't know what he was doing in this rubbish.

Best drama I've ever watched!
lizzyylinxtt18 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This is absolutely on my top list of dramas ever! Not only is it cute and fun but also the limitless amount of content between social issues and equality that is almost unheard of in asian dramas is impeccable. I love this show so incredibly much, when i first watched the trailer, needless to say, i was a little hindered on if i should watch it or not, and yes, the show is a little cheesy, but that's also what makes it so good, fun and cheerful. Also, Angie is a total baddie! We love to see strong female leads, especially ones that come from a gang boss father, but shes also super silly and loving and suppeeeerrr pretty! One downside of this drama! Where the heck is the rest of it? I got so hooked on it that by the time i got to the ending of episode 6 and the next episode button didn't pop up I started searching like a mad woman wondering if something was wrong with my netflix or something. Needless to say, Netflix! We need more! I personally can not stand being left on a cliffhanger but this wasn't even a cliffhanger! It was like if there was a 2 hour movie but it had to end half way through. Give us the season 2! Nonetheless, i will continue to rewatch this drama over and over again until we get information on whether or not we get a season 2. If you don't mind cliffhangers and suspense i sincerely recommend watching this!

Dont watch - cliffhanger w. no ending
fossilized-7796326 August 2023
I gave 2 stars so that all the many fine actors could get credit for their talent and efforts. I took away the other 8 stars because I strongly object to stories that do not end. Not only did this one not end, it ended on a cliffhanger that promised more. But more was never delivered. I recently heavily criticized IQIYI for doing the same thing with another series. I really hate to see Netflix operating at the same level.

For dramas like this, Netflix should post an advisory that they are partial series with no sequels.

I do not recommend watching this drama, unless you want to just enjoy some really nice acting and don't care about the story at all.

Fun Series but Incomplete Season
appunair1526 October 2021
The series is fun to watch. The season with 6 episode is incomplete, when the story starts to get intresting and then the show ends suddenly at 6th episode. No conclusion, right in middle.

Netflix where is Season 2?
PalmBeachG4 December 2022
Never watched Taiwanese Dramas before, however I just first got introduced to Jasper as an actor when I saw him on "Twogether" Travel Documentary on Netflix which I watched since it had my favorite Korean actor, Lee Seung-gi paired with Jasper to go on a travel adventure together meeting fans and they ended up making best friends with each other. I noticed him then as having the spark one has to be a star so I searched on Netflix to see what else I could find since on the travel show it was mentioned he was in a Taiwanese drama in the past. Found this 6 episode Triad Princess which I loved him in - his extrodinary smile will pull anyone in to be a fan, you just can't help it as he has a charisma. I only gave it 9 stars because it is so short, would have loved this to be longer as it was very fun to watch. The leading female star was cute and played the part of the gangster daughter perfectly and they made a perfect couple together. I didn't quite understand the ending though - was left standing there and then was that Eddie at the end with the other gangsters? Obviously we were left hanging so Netflix dropped the ball on not having a Season 2. I don't think it is too late. Hope they rethink it and go ahead.
