Solid group road trip dram-edy!
balthesaur2 July 2022
When Mark (Gonzalo Martin) finds out he has a section of his brain that doesn't function correctly, that, in turn, affects his heart, and that he may die very soon, he gets the gang back together for a road trip to say goodbye to his ex-girlfriend, Lyla (Hassie Harrison). Through a strange whirlwind of circumstances, Preston (Chris Lee), Ira (Charlie Morgan Patton), Robin (Esteban De La Isla), and Kaitlyn (Alex Felix), will stop at nothing to get Mark 'Back to Lyla'.

Well shot and decently acted film! Towards the beginning, there are a lot of scene-within-scene special effects, which help build the exposition, but they trail off later on; other CGI elements are paltry by comparison, but they add a sort of indie charm. The twist at the end explains a rather large plot hole in the film, which does sum up the film quite nicely.

Worth a watch!

So bad it's funny

Warning: Spoilers
The acting was mediocre There was random effects added on If you couldn't see the characters mouth they would have there dialogue voiced over and it didn't sound good and sometimes you could see their mouths when they did this and they just wouldn't move their mouths It wasn't funny Rebecca as a character didn't really make sense except for her being self destruction Robin was supposed to be the stupid funny one but sucked at it and the only time I thought his character was good was when he was giving Mark the pep talk The fact that the plot twist was that he was in a coma and imagined it all made the movie feel like a waste of time The story if told better would have been good I only watched it cause I was bored and got a good laugh at most of the dumb things about it so that's a posotive.

An enjoyable film

Even though I know some of the filmmakers, personally, I always leave honest reviews. I found this film heartwarming and enjoyable to watch. I always have the greatest amount of respect and admiration when my peers do good work. Congrats to the cast and crew. A lot to enjoy here.

I loved this film

Without giving anything away i really enjoyed the characters journeys. The film was shot beautifully and the relationships between the characters were grounded and there was so much humanity in all them. I really found them likable and relatable and I'm a sucker for a group of friends on a journey for a common goal. Well done and beautifully directed, makes me want to take on the open road. Really liked Americas choices in the direction, and the casting was spot on. You cant fake chemistry, you can tell this group of young actors really enjoyed the process. Looking forward to seeing more from them all.

Unexpectedly good!
trotas29 December 2022
I found this movie by chance on Amazon Prime and I'm so glad I did it. This initially seems just a light teenage comedy, with some weird/strange events along the way, but it's way more than that. In the end it all makes sense, we wouldn't guess it would dig so deep. I was not expecting it. I've watched so many movies but, despite this being obviously a low budget one, it really has soul and even some sparks of brilliance. The acting was quite good, Gonzalo Martin really filled the screen with his solid performance as the conflicted Mark. He is a rising star. This movie unexpectedly entered my list of movies which changed my guts a bit.
