The Love Witch, directed by Anna Biller, is a feminist horror film well-deserving of a revisit this October.

The 47th Annual Annie Awards nominations were led by Disney blockbuster sequel “Frozen 2” and Laika’s Yeti adventure “Missing Link” with eight nominations apiece, followed by Netflix’s “Klaus” with seven and DreamWorks’ “How to Train Your Dragon: Hidden World” and Pixar’s “Toy Story 4” with six, which all landed Best Feature nominations. Also racking up a surprising six nominations for Netflix was lauded indie nominee, French import “I Lost My Body.”
Not bad for animation awards newbie Netflix.
Scoring four nods were DreamWorks’ and Pearl Studios’ other Yeti entry, “Abominable,” and GKids’ Japanese Oscar entry “Weathering with You.” Landing two nominations each were Blue Sky’s “Spies in Disguise” (Fox), Illumination’s “The Secret Life of Pets 2” (from Universal), and “The Addams Family” (United Artists).

Disney’s uber-successful franchises are the ones to look out for at the 47th annual Annie Awards with Frozen 2 and Toy Story 4 earning eight and six nominations respectively. Laika’s stop-motion animated feature Missing Link nabbed eight nods, matching the aforementioned icy animated sequel, while DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World matched Toy Story 4 with six.

Lucasfilm has revealed their plans for the upcoming D23 Expo and it’s sure to get Star Wars fans excited. They will be hosting a panel for Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian where they will screen some footage for the the fans! The will also have a pavilion on the show room floor, which will be a first for Lucasfilm at this event.

We’ve got a new episode of Lucasfilm’s animated series Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures for you to watch today. This one puts the focus on Luke Skywalker doing a little lightsaber training with Obi-Wan Kenobi while on board the Millennium Falcon.
After getting getting blasted around an annoying amount of times, he learns to stretch out with his feelings and take out the floating blaster training ball.
Luke Skywalker learns an important lesson about trusting his instincts to fight like a Jedi. Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures is a series of animated shorts celebrating the characters and stories of a galaxy far, far away, featuring a bright and colorful art style, exciting action, and insight into the saga's greatest themes!

"I want to learn the ways of the Force and become a Jedi, like my father." Disney + Lucasfilm have debuted the first set of animated shorts films for a new series they're calling Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures. These shorts feature key moments from the Star Wars cinematic franchise re-told in short form animation, in order to "introduce the classic themes, pivotal moments, and iconic characters from the Star Wars saga to the next generation." In addition to the new series of shorts being debuted online, a new Hasbro toy line is debuting at Walmart in December and expanding nationwide in January 2019. The first six of the 1-minute shorts are available now, and explore Luke's meeting with Obi-Wan, Vader's pursuit of Leia and his reign, plus introductions to R2-D2 and Chewbacca.
