The highly anticipated addition to the action sci-fi franchise Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts opened in theaters on June 9. According to Deadline, “the movie has pounced on a $110M opening weekend. Combined with domestic, that gives the Autobots and Maximals a global debut of $170.5M, coming in ahead of projections. The Steven Caple Jr-directed franchise reboot was No. 1 worldwide and at the international box office for the frame.” The film’s exciting score is from Jongnic “Jb” Bontemps.

Exclusive: Los Angeles’ Dances with Films has announced the lineup for its 2021 film festival, setting Oscar nominees Paul Greengrass and Michael London as the speakers for its inaugural First Films series.
The Dances With Films festival, which had to go virtual in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, is returning for an in-person 24th edition at the Tcl Chinese Theatre, between August 26 and September 12. It kicks off on the 26th with an opening night carpet celebration at the Roosevelt Hotel.
This year’s festival will showcase 40 Narrative Features, 100 Narrative Shorts, 31 Documentaries, 30 Midnight films, 26 Downbeat titles, 27 pilots, and 23 titles in the category of Dances with Kids.
Features on the lineup include Matthew Ya-Hsiung Balzer’s The Catch, starring Kyle Gallner, James McMenamin, Katia Winter and Thomas Kee; Generation Wrecks starring Heather Matarazzo and Emily Bergl; Ryan McDonough and Sean Gannet’s Last Night in Rozzie starring Jeremy Sisto and Neil Brown Jr....

Gravitas Ventures has acquired North American rights to Last Night in Rozzie, a Boston-set drama starring Neil Brown Jr, Nicky Whelan, Jeremy Sisto and Kevin Chapman. Sean Gannet directed the pic, which will now get a day-and-date release beginning September 17.
Written by Ryan McDonough, the plot centers on New York lawyer Ronnie Russo (Brown) who becomes entangled in a complicated web of conflicting loyalties when summoned to his Boston hometown by a dying childhood friend (Sisto). Sent on a mission to fulfill his friend’s final wish – a reunion with his estranged son – Russo is forced to confront his past and a secret childhood trauma he’s kept hidden for more than 25 years.
Joseph Stephans, McDonough, Gannet, Kris Meyer, and Andrew Cahill are producers, and Tim O’Keeffe and Jennifer and Gregory Ezring executive produced. The deal was negotiated by Gravitas’ Sales & Acquisitions Manager David Sullivan and Circus Road Films’ Glen Reynolds.

Hall Pass and The Wedding Ringer actress Nicky Whelan is set to play opposite Neil Brown Jr. in Last Night in Rozzie, an indie drama which is being directed by Sean Gannet. Brown, Jr. stars as Ronnie Russo, a successful but troubled attorney who returns to his Boston hometown at the request of his dying friend, years after they as children killed his abusive father and covered it up. Whelan’s character is Pattie, a single mother with a tortured past, who must decide whether to let her past dictate her present day integrity with her son. Her additional co-stars are Mike O’Malley, Kevin Chapman, and Jeremy Sisto. Joseph Stephans is producing the pic, which is being financed by Big Show Pictures. McDonough and Kris Meyer serve as executive producers. Whelan, who can next be seen opposite Bruce Willis in the action pic, Trauma Center, is repped by Luber Roklin Entertainment and Innovative Artists.
