- Beginning of the journey in Stockholm: Sophie meets Sophie Mayard on the Bridge of the crown (Skeppsholmsbron) and they walk towards the old town (the Grand Place) and the greatest pedestrian street of Stockhol: in VETE-KATTEN they take the "fika", the typical Swedish coffee break (coffee and sweet buns).Then Sophie goes to the Royal Guard barrack where she meets Kalle Eskilsson : there 300 soldiers and 80 horses of the Swedish army are in charge of the protection of the royal family: Sophie and Kalle drink coffee and then visit the stables: Martina Tortensson, a civil servant, explains that she is training the young horses (they must be always quiet when they are in a parade).Then Kalle and Sophie see the change of the guard: the musicians play this days " Hooked on a feeling" a song of the Swedish band "Blue Swede".On the morning Sophie meets Sophie Jorsell the manager of the AF Chapman Hostel: she tells her the story of the AF Chapman, a steel sailing vessel which has been a training ship and later transformed into a Youth Hostel managed by the Swedish Tourist Association.Then Sophie goes to the "Vasamuset": where the guide Charlotte Lendi explains that the Vasa sank in 1628 and 333 years later it was raised and restored.After that Sophie meets Willy Soraa, the captain of the "Tiffany" and they make a boat tour between the islands of the Stockholm archipelago. On the next day Sophie goes to the cafe and pastry shop of Sophie Mayard and they prepare "canelé" ( a small French pastry with a soft and tender custard center and a dark caramelized crust): they taste the pastries and deliver "canelé" to the restaurant "Bistrot Paname". Then Sophie travels to the island of Grinda: Maria Jorgenssen, a farmer , receives her and they go to the farm.Maria explains that only two families (9 persons) are living all the year on this island, in the summer there are more people (aria organizes pony tours):then Maria and Sophie takes care for the animals (cows, pigs, rabbits,chickens), they have a walk through the forest and enjoy the wild landscape: at supper Sophie meets Maria's daughters and they enjoy a good home made hamburger.Later Sophie meets Ingela Bendt,a journalist and writer; they buy salmon, herring and mackerel in a market: they taste whitefish eggs (the Swedish caviar) and then they travel by bike to Ingela's house: it's an area of allotment gardens and Ingela takes care for her apple trees, pear trees, vegetables and flowers.She enjoys working in her garden.They make a barbecue and eat grilled fishes.On the next day Sophie meets again Sophie Mayard, they go to the Centralbadet: an Art Nouveau building with a swimming pool; they swim for a while and take a massage.Later they go to an amusement park with the son of Sophie and they go for a ride on the merry-go-round. Besides we see zooms about the Swedish royal family, about the islands of the Stockholm archipelago, about the allemansrätten, about the flying banker, about the grocery of Husarö, about the parental leave, about the ethnologist Mattias Frihammar, about the celebration of the summer solstice, about ABBA and the Swedish music industry and the pleasure of singing in Sweden.—zutterjp48
