Spectacular, tense, dense .. But some bad physics could be avoided ...

Lot of it happens in this episode - like our old friends dinosaurs are hungry again :-) Pretty good for TV show, especially in this later months, when there is no decent Sci-Fi on channels - well at least not new one. Will not go in details - if you liked first couple episodes, this will be fine for ya too.

I had only 1 problem with: that container ditched in space, with four souls in would not go so cold so fast at all. Yes, space is cold, but it is vacuum too - so there in no what to take temperature from objects - they never heard about how thermos aka vacuum-flask works ? Only thermal radiation . And that would be much slower cold down. I guess that much bigger problem would be with oxygen in so small space. Really don't see why they did not go that line. No need for scientific advisors ? Seemed as they did it in rush - missed scene of catching container with jupiter. So, only 8 instead 9. In season 3 I will be less tolerant - 3 stars less for similar - you have been warned !

Warning: Spoilers
I really liked this episode of "Lost in Space" and Mina Sundwall is turning Penny into one of my favourite characters on the show.

With John (Toby Stephens) and Judy (Taylor Russell) recovering from the previous episodes action, focus moves to the rest of the family. With the metal eating virus having made it to The Resolute, Penny and Dr. Smith (Parker Posey) are trapped with Vijay (Ajay Friese) and their teacher in a quarantined section of the ship. As the virus spreads, it becomes apparent that the only way to save the ship is to jettison that area of the craft. Don (Ignacio Serrichhio) comes up with a daring plan to rescue them. Meanwhile, Will (Maxwell Jenkins), Maureen (Molly Parker) and Ben Adler (JJ Feild) head to the planet to try and locate the robot.

It was the stuff up on the Resolute that really made the show for me. The interactions between the four trapped characters and Don were all great stuff. The comedic moments, alongside the moments between Penny and Don following the rescue are great. Don's sacrifice pushes the story into interesting options for the rest of the run. It feeds into the Penny's overall story too, that she might not be the "useless Robinson". But Mina Sundwell's performance has turned Penny into my favourite of the Robinson family.

I didn't pick up on the scientific errors in the space phase of the story, but I did find some aspects of the planet-bound story questionable. Given that the have to rappel down from the Jupiter anyway, is there any reason that they didn't land nearer the robots location? And whist we're on that, why were the horses left outside of the protective barriers when they know that the raptor creature things are around? Still, at least Will now has his Robot back hopefully he'll stop pining for it a bit.

Best episode of the show so far.

Emotional again

Good directing. Emotional engagement again was better on this episode. Still a little silly at times but much better than the first 2 rubbish episodes.

We can be better!

Warning: Spoilers
Society has become addicted to movies and TV shows that play like a video game with lasers and blasters solving every problem. Negotiating the world as problem-solvers who help each other survive by intelligent means and with empathy has become "boring" and implausible to many. Some reviewers state that the only part of the show they like is the Dr. Smith character because of her malevolence. Have we stopped believing in the benefits of selflessness and altruism? When Dr. Smith convinces the teacher to overcome his fear and climb into the box, we see that even small acts of kindness count for something. I'm sure she has ulterior motives, but I'm happy that she was able to save someone's life rather than push him to sacrifice himself to ensure her own safety. It's an example of doing what's right for once despite potential difficulties. And of course, Don's willingness to admit his illegal activities to enact a plan and save the group is truly the stuff of legendary heroes.

I think " Lost in Space" is well-written and exemplifies the potential we have if we learn to solve our problems without violence. Having a family who loves each other and works together to solve whatever comes at them without shooting up the "bad guys" is refreshing. It reminds me of the premise behind the original Star Trek.

Warning: Spoilers
Perfect episode:) Be a family, be a Robinson. Amazing Don West, he is like a knight of smuglers:) Penny find her path, she is rbel and stubborn. Zoe Smith is another story, don't understand she is good or bad or just mentally ill. Finally Will find his robot. Hearth heated scene.

After the loquacious talk fest last so, this is a satisfying return to form. Sharp action, thrills a bit of mystery. Listing Space, Back in Form!
