In the first season Lila had a sarcastic character that sometimes talked in tongue in cheek style and that was working greatly for her but in the second season they completely ruined her character by making her an extremely bitter and insufferable person.
She's constantly fighting with everybody, including her best friend, constantly trying to insult others, trying to create conflict in every scene like it's her job or something.
This is not "character development", in fact this is the exact opposite of character development. Character development involves characters growing, learnings from their mistakes and becoming better people, not become insufferable and bitter all the time.
