With all the psychedelic distractions, we have now moved back to the more intriguing details. What we have are a bunch of heartless people, avaricious to the core. But they are also flawed and dangerous. But some faces return and that is good. I liked the deposition, although I think one would need some pretty lengthy legal training to really understand what is happening. I am totally hooked and await the concluding episodes.

Warning: Spoilers
For most shows a deposition is not the most enthralling thing in the world, but the way this season of Goliath has gone it was the best we got here. I don't like how they're lumping together the first three seasons, but if the payoff in the next two episodes makes sense I guess it is worth it.

Now as we circle into an ending, the plot both thickens and thins out, and gets more clear and remains confusing being that this season's muse, Chinatown, is intentionally confusing, plus the fact all previous seasons' ducks are lining up here. More or less back on board with being a lawyer show, it's more interesting than the Twin Peaks meets Stranger Things vibe of the last few episodes. Basically, Billy Bob's back in action, somewhat.
And the Chinatown similarities gains new ground, and while not mentioned here, it's fairly predictable and hard to not see coming. Let's just say it has nothing to do with water.
The problem is the cram session of the villain's motivations, leaving very little to the imagination. "You can't handle the truth!" can almost be heard in Dennis Quaid's thoughts at one point.
