There were many things great about this show. They tried to keep it historical, but also failed on that in many respects.

Love the concept, love the show. I like how they bring in experienced and inexperienced armored fighters to show how challenging the sport is.

However it's pretty clear to me that there are always 2 competitors that the judges want to see in the finale. They always end up on the same team instead of making the 2v2 round more balanced.

Like a lot of "reality shows" more time built to an attenmpt for a personal relation to characters than on action. But here it feels clunky. Rules during fights make cumbersome fighting even more cumbersome (being weighed by 50+ lbs of metal, using blunted weapons, no hitting when down for safety...all I understand). Needs a ref that said "if not blunted u are incapacitated or dead". Otherwise just a bunch of grown men that just swing. Arbitrary "he looks better cause...". Swings, hits, who took it better, who came back (ignoring advantage of editing). A ref eliminating contestants that would be gone from sharpened edges, etc would make it more feasible. More controversial, maybe, in future but better replicate what actually happened vice (had my arm chopped off..but just a flesh wound"

This is a true testament to armored combat. People tend to think of "movie knights" when thinking about medieval combat but the truth is they fought with brutal aggression utilizing their armor, weapons, fists and anything they could do get there opponent down. Most knights were to heavily armored you needed to put them down to find and pierce open spots in their armor. This tournament showcases that armored combat is a rush of twisted metal and aggression. Don't be fooled by watching movies, this is the real deal of armored combat!!

It's really odd that martial historians would allow mistakes like trying to write 14 in roman numerals to denote Legions such as "XIIII" on a shield. =( It's supposed to be "XIV". Also, relegating a Gladius to slashing only removes a large portion of the blades design and intent.

There just seems to be some kinks that need to be worked out as to how the utilization of weapons and armoured are employed within the confines of the show ruleset.

The show has so much potential. We need to know the fighters more on a personal level. Find out where they are from, see them train and get a little more invested in each fighter so the impact of the fight will have some meaning. The judges were good but maybe get a women to be on the ground interviewing them before and after the fight. Please dont listen to the review about the sharp wepons and a reff thats just ridiculous.

The rules are different from your regular ACL matches. But they adapted the sport to the show really well. They have a habit of drawing you in and getting you excited about the match. Amazing show. Absolutely loved it. Can't wait season 2!!

If you enjoy disorganized, disorderly, unsystematic combat between adults who have absolutely no clue of how to utilize their own armour and weaponry, then you might actually like this show. Armoured knights were highly trained fighters, skilled in one to one combat. This is a bunch of dudes headbutting, pushing and blindly hitting each other. You're better off watching WWE shows, at least those have better choreography.

I have never seen a show like this and I promise neither will you. Modern gladiators duke it out with real wepons and suites of armer. You need your head examined to want to compete in this sport. Dont believe me watch it for yourself.

Really can't thank the people who put this together enough if it wasn't for knightfight i would have never heard of the armored combat league.. season two may take time but while i'm waiting i'll be getting my own armor to join the fray 🍻

For 53yrs I have been a fan of martial arts, swords, armor, and more... I have trained with sword and shield, I have forged blades, and have studied the history of armor. I highly recommend this series for anyone who appreciates armored combat in any form... the people involved are approachable and leave you with the idea that maybe this sport is within reach... with a bit of training, commitment, and investment. Give the series a chance and you will not be disappointed! Gloria et auditorium!

I thought the season finale was some of the best contact fighting I have seen since MMA pay-per-view. Like others have said, I would also like to get a little more information on the fighters via short biographies. From the armor, to the weapons, to the training, to the history of combat in-general there is so much this show can take advantage of. Looking forward to Season 2!

Brutal combat requiring ultimate fitness! Format improved with every episode, I have no doubt that if continued it will be even better. The cast and crew gave it their all and it shows. Armour works!

Watch it! If you made it as far as the reviews, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

A brilliant display of 14th century tournament combat mixed with the interesting twist of adding different periods weapons. It's great watching the fighters try different strategies and weapons and then wail on each other. There's also no hokey faked animosity or pretension to the combatants in the show and everyone just seemed so pleased to fight.

Knight Fights bring armored fighters into a ring to fight, real armor, real weapons. New beginning, ufc is not hyped anymore and boxing became a profit cow over dramatic hype with disappointment ending. Knight Fight has great potential to explode, just needs a help getting out to social media's and tv space.

The production quality is excellent, the fighters are the toughest on the planet and the weapons and armor are first class. I bought the season pass on Amazon and it's the show I watch the most on that platform. History Channel has been lacking practical demonstration of its content for a while now and this show rounds out their content available very nicely.

Absolutely love Knight Fight! True warriors of today clashing in armor to see who is the best of the best. Bringing a historically accurate medieval sport to modern day television in a display of skill, determination and sheer power is unlike anything I thought would happen in my lifetime. But here it is! And to know I joined the Armored Combat League just before the birth of this show makes it that much sweeter. 10/10

A great show that I watched consistently every week. It's easentially MMA but with a medieval flair. It will give you an appreciation for the brutality experience by and physical conditioning required by medieval combatants.

Anyone who says that this was akin to watching grown men pillow fight probably has (1) never been involved in an actual fight and has no appreciation for the force that the blows actually impart even through armor like that and (2) doesn't realize this is a sport that has evolved from historic fighting techniques much like the modern sport of fencing.

This series pits modern fighters mostly from the Armored Combat League to try their hand at medieval style tournament fighting. The weapons may be blunt and there are a few rules, but the fights, blood, sweat, and impacts are all very real. Every now and then they throw in a wild card - an athlete from another sport - to see how they fare. The camera work is helpful yet maintains the tension and excitement without getting too technical.

Some will say the fighters may not be using proper medieval technique, yet most have pretty good knowledge of the period manuals and have studied them. The fact is, these aren't nicey-nicey demonstrations. In a full contact match where the idea is to dominate your opponent, all the pretty maneuvers fall short, and you're back to basics: Keep your feet and drop your opponent. This fighting is raw, brutal, and eminently entertaining.

I can't wait for a second season. DO IT!

I'm not a big TV watcher but I love this sport and have loved watching this show!

Finally, History Channel has a show not centered around average jobs depicting them as amazing history. Something with historic ties and authentic violence. Hoping for Season 2

I've been waiting for shows like this for a long time! I love the armored combat league and everything I've seen by them. Can't wait for season two!

Awesome like Marmite..you'll LOVE or hate this..it's like my 12 year old dream come true..I've got dodgy knees a sore back and crick in my neck but I want to buy a suit of Armor and DESTROY!
