This movie is very idiosyncratic. (I don't want to take too much away, but I can't understand the role of the mother, Dolores Fonzi, at all) The whole thing begins with thriller-like images and you are immediately captivated. But already in the 2nd minute the story turns into a narrative story and is underlaid with dreamy images. From then on, it becomes a very quiet story that lives from flashbacks and thus also tells the "actual" story. It's all somehow interesting and exciting, but it's also a very slow story that builds up and you always have the feeling of being in a "dream".
It has spooky moments, mixed with summer memories, a female friendship (which feels like it goes beyond friendship) and motherly love.
It has something, but sometimes I had the feeling that in the middle you didn't know exactly where it was going, or I didn't know.
At the end, I was partly reassured by the resolution because I found out "what" had happened. But I also didn't like the ending at all, because it didn't fit into "my" concept.
Here you should consciously get involved with a movie that lives from calm images, builds up an atmosphere and is not made for the mainstream.
You (I) can do something like this as a "bedtime snack", but it was too "carrying" and a bit "heavy" for me in places. I wasn't entirely satisfied with the resolution and not much really happens, it could have been summarized more briefly, less country romance and more focus on the actual story. - But of course it's always a matter of taste.

Conclusion:
So-so.
