People say it's boring but it's actually essential

This episode might be full of rather slow-paced flashbacks. But as a viewer who has been following this show for a long time instead of binging it all at once, i find it hard to recall all the details and story back in Season 1 when Sam Keating was still around.

Hence this episode is necessary to help us recall the strained relationships between the Keatings, bonnie and Frank.

Running Out of Gas

I know that there needs to be exposition in a fictional work. But this seems to drag on and ignore the biggest questions. I have to say that I have little empathy with Annalise. For all her zealousness, she is really a tiresome character. Does she ever look at the good things in life. Does she have any loyalty? Or is she just self serving and cruel? Even the scene with Gabriel. Does she, for a moment, have the right to criticize him? Do her minions have that right? I can't think of one admirable character in this whole mess. It's like watching a train wreck. Anyway, I'm intrigued if we can let go of the flashbacks and see how this gets resolved.

Better than S4 but still lacking from S1 and S2.

While season 5 is marginally better than season 4, and this is not the best episode in the series, it's not that bad either.

Yes, it's filled with some flashbacks from scenes most of which we have already seen, but i can imagine some needed refreshing the memory if you were watching this at the time and not binging like me. These flashbacks were what i liked the most from seasons 1 and 2, gradually reavealing more and more clues about murders, and how to get away with them. It sure beats a 30 minute wedding from last episode and 5 minutes of singing. For crying out loud, if i wanted that i'll go to a musical.

I want more murders, more Annalise vs The Evil Guvner, and less pointless (gay) drama.

Very emotional flashback episode

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was outstanding with such an amazing performance by Viola Davis. Liza and Tom were great too. Flashbacks explained a lot and we finally got many questions answered. We know why Gabriel is here, and we finally know who Frank was taking to on the phone!! It was Eve!! Can't believe she's back I wasn't expecting that. And Laurel found the blood on the blanket, so it's about to be exposed.

But why?

So happy our show is finally back and Eve too! Missed her assertiveness, love and care for Annalise so much, but am as much intrigued by her mysteries as ever. Now why, is she, back? Surely she must have more to say than that Sam is a horrible person, which we all already knew? Cannot wait for next week!!!

Well, this is well done!

What can I say? Or as Asher says : need I say more? This episode which was awaited for a long did reach my expectations. Needless to say I'm a fan and that's why I talk of my expectations. See, when you have seen these series long enough, you're just used to big splashes, big crushes, big twists and turns. And so, I was not disappointed. This episode was so well written that it made me want to go back to my own writing work or have the chance to work for shows like this. See, the writing here sounds easy, looks easy, but it is exquisitely chosen, it is heavily to the point. Especially you see that when you know the rest as I said. I was so glad to see Mr Verica again. When will we see Mr Enoch too? Will that ever happen? Or as Ms Oh it won't be? And last but not least the colors of these series just made all their sense for me in this season. Just adds to the mystery the little thing you need. I can't wait for the next. L

People have such Bad taste today... They give 9 rating for boring and Bad episode, and 7.7 to this one ? It is one of the best episode in the show, emotional powerful, in fact i was getting bored by this show since Season 3, but This episode and the previous one helped me to get back in the story.

Good watch 8.75/10.

Boring episode, but will probably get better
nflhomeboy18 January 2019
This episode was just trying to give us the back story of you know who. Now that it has, I think we can expect upcoming episodes to be much better.

Hasn't jumped the shark yet, but is getting the water skis out
kanderson-1773718 January 2019
Seemingly long and buried in expositional flashbacks, this episode is evidence that the show is starting its decline. The writing is bland, and rehashes events we've already experienced with these characters, reopening storylines that have long been closed. Not a great sign of things to come, although there is still plenty of season left for the show to recapture its dramatic charm.

This is utter garbage.

Warning: Spoilers
The show is terrible now and needs to end. There's no story left. There's good shows that are able to jump from different time frames but this one is not. It sucks. Let t go!
