I don't understand the low rating this amazing song and somewhat fun video is getting here. "Goodnight Tonight" might not be one of the most
amazing musical moments of genial Paul McCartney and the Wings but it has all the great elements of a successful pop/rock song. Simple yet effective
lyrics, very catchy and with a very melodic sound - that funky bass kills it with perfection.
Unlike the highly spectacle of "Coming Up", the video for this particular song isn't so fascinating. It's interesting to see the duality of
periods covered when McCartney, Linda and company are performing the song, a majority of the time in a 1940's old style (Paul's hair is amazing
with all that grease), and some brief flashes to a more contemporary styles, that bit is weirdly presented with Paul playing the bongo. For a
typical video performance it's cool to watch the costumes and the art-direction. It's pretty good. 9/10.
