- TriviaWhen Midge and Lenny meet up at the bar, before going to the filming of Miami After Dark, a fan walks up to Lenny, calling him "Mr Bruce." Lenny responses by telling the fan that, "Mr Bruce was my mother." Amy Sherman-Palladino (creator/producer/director of the show) knew Sally Marr, who was the real Lenny Bruce's mother and whenever anyone learned who she was, she'd call herself "Mr Bruce", so the line's in reference to this.
- GoofsWhen Abe and his Communist friends are meeting to talk about the first issue of "It's the Sixties, Man" they discuss the quality of the font. In the 1960's, ordinary people would have said "type" or "typeface" instead. "Font" first came into most people's vocabularies with personal computing applications that offered users a choice of "fonts."

Finally, it's bacckkk!
I do not know what happened in the first three Midge episodes of this series, but instead of it being "funny" kvetching, it was just kvetching! The proletariat scenes were simply irritating and the Abe and Rose downsizing annoying. Not just not funny, but grating!
Finally in episode 5, Midge and Susie are back! Smart, funny, timing back on track. Great soundtrack. Whew! Glad I hung in there a little longer.
I think Shy is more Johnny Mathis, but there is some Belafonte. Hopefully others will make it past the first three episodes.
Clearly Joel will step more center stage this season. I am sure it is not easy to come up with fresh material season to season, but please come up with something better for Abe and Rose so their characters do not sour on us. Shalhoub is a fabulous actor but his cluelessness was grating with the proletariat invasion and the reason for downsizing not believable. Standing up for one's rights (Rose) is one thing but being stupid about it is another.
Anyway, it's finally back! And now onto other episodes of the Mrs. Maisel I loved and admired, minus episodes 1-3! Hopefully the writers now keep up the smart writing that has been acted by top notch actors, who deserve good material and produce when the writing is good and the scenes are believable and funny! End of my own kvetching! Now onto episode 6! The ship has finally righted itself!
