Is Danny a lousy cop...
cpotato10102 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Or is he sometimes (too often) written that way?

You see a murder suspect pulling up to where he works.

Do you wait for him to exit his car before identifying yourself as cops, or do you do something which turns into another car chase?

And then the writers have the suspect kill himself, so you don't have to produce actual evidence that could lead to his conviction at trial.

All of the threads to this episode seemed a little thin, there was no real suspense or investigation needed.

A plus - it was nice to see Callie Thorne. The hint she gave at the end will hopefully will lead to her presence on a future episode.

Problem with the premise
april-411183 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
First of all I love this show, but this episode really bothered me. You have an obviously poor single mother with a child that has type 1 diabetes and she claims that she has no insurance. I call this BS. Medicaid is available in every state, the chip program for kids is available in every state, New York has programs for the working poor and children and on top of all of this the American Society of Diabetes has programs to help with prescription cost and equipment. Every medical professional will supply this information to you.

Altruism?
bkoganbing15 June 2019
As Vanessa Ray gets closer to her wedding with Will Estes, all the Reagans get into situations where motives and altruism are questioned.

The archbishop himself when he learns that a certain charity he's enthusiastic about is cutting a few corners in its fund raising he goes to Tom Selleck to personally investigate. Selleck does investigate with some surprising results.

Donnie Wahlberg gets a case where a psychic medium gets involved in a case originally thought to be a suicide where a young woman is thought to have hanged herself. Her observations are unnervingly accurate for one who is a complete outsider.

Bridget Moynahan looks into a case for her ex and the ever cynical Steven Schirippa questions his motives and the Reagan sister starts questioning also.

As for Estes and Ray, they help save a life and Vanessa does a truly nice thing for the mother of the little boy they save.

There are some who do good in this world after all.

Medium? Give me a break
hwhuige26 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Seriously, this is a detective show, not a fantasy.

I try to think how the medium can be a scam but she just knows too many details. About the crime, she really shouldn't know about the locket. Though it's explainable that she knows about Linda, it's difficult for her to know the cause of Linda's death and it's simply impossible for her to know that Linda used to say "love you more".

So all of these imply that she's a real medium.

If there isn't a future episode that shows that the so-called medium is a scam, then this episode is really horrible. It's OK to add some elements to the show but they must be realistic. Superstition is simply unacceptable.
