Photo-journaliste Moland Fengkov created "Le parfum et la poudre - Texas: women and guns, a love story" in 2016. Very regularly, those women spend a few hours together, sharing a training gun cession and talking about their last accessory (pink guns are common) to customize their guns, or their last competition result. They all hope they'll never face the necessity to use it against someone, but they all want to be prepared. Just in case.
The first issue of "Gun Cult - a lifestyle and culture magazine for badass women "- April 29, 2018, has UFC fighter Valentina Shevchenko on the cover. Valentina never misses an opportunity to shoot, and relishes the occasions when she can try out a new gun.
In Texas 2009, a woman was called in front of a grand jury for possible manslaughter charges after she shot a mugger in the back six times as he was running away with her purse. He had grabbed her purse and ran. She had her hand on her gun inside the purse and when he ran with the purse she was left holding just the gun. When asked by the grand jury why she shot him six times in the back as he was running, under oath, she replied "Because when I pulled the trigger the 7th time, it only went click."
She was acquitted of all charges because that's the way it is in Texas and the way it should be everywhere.
