Yolanda wakes up her to her alarm, gets up, dresses, and checks herself in the mirror. She puts on a "Vote Yolanda" badge and goes down to breakfast, and her family greets her as he goes to school. At school, Yolanda finds her boyfriend Henry at his locker and hugs him. They go down the hallway, walking past Cindy.
That night, Yolanda is working at her desk at home when her phone rings. It's a text from Henry, and he invites her to send him a sexy picture. Yolanda finally removes her top and sends him a photo of herself topless. The next day at school, Henry shows the photos to his friends. Cindy yanks the phone away from Henry and sees the photos before he can take the phone back. Later Yolanda is giving a student government speech in the auditorium, and Cindy sends the photo to the other students' phones. They gasp and laugh, and Yolanda sees the photo on her phone. She looks at Henry, who looks back at her in surprise, and runs off the stage. Principal Bowin tells everyone to settle down, while Cindy smiles in satisfaction.

In her room, Courtney looks at the JSA items on her bed. She clicks the pink pen that Pat warned her was dangerous, but nothing happens. Courtney clicks it repeatedly but nothing still happens. She puts it in a pen cup on her desk, then goes through a school yearbook. Pat calls the family down to breakfast, and Courtney puts the items in a duffle bag and hides it in her closet while something in the pen giggles.
In the kitchen, Pat and Barbara kiss and Courtney and Mike look disgusted. Tom says he he's bringing a friend to dinner, and Barbara suggests that Courtney also bring a friend. Mike says that Courtney doesn't have any friends, and Courtney claims that she has tons of friends. Her mother realizes that she's lying and assures her that she'll make friends eventually, then leaves for work. Courtney goes to school, and Pat goes after her and says that he knows what it's like to lose a friend. The girl says that Joey wasn't her friend because he never got the chance to be, and tells her stepfather that they should be out recruiting new JSA members. Pat tells her that they can't drag anyone else into their conflict with the ISA, and says that he needs to find them without them finding them. He says that he'll alert the authorities, and Courtney wonders what Pat will do if the ISA are the authorities.
At school, Courtney finds a photo in the yearbook of Yolanda, boxing. Yolanda goes by and Courtney looks at her. Henry is coming down the hallway and bumps into Yolanda, and Yolanda says something to him before going to her locker. As Henry continues down the hall, Cindy notices and asks him what Yolanda said, and Henry says that it was nothing.
Cindy goes over to Yolanda and says that Yolanda probably said something dirty to Henry. She says that Henry has seen enough of Yolanda and everyone has, and Courtney comes over and tells Cindy to stop it. Courtney asks what Cindy's problem is, and Cindy threatens her. When Courtney doesn't back down, Cindy tells her that she'll never see Cindy coming and walks off. Yolanda walks off and Courtney goes after her, and Yolanda tells Courtney to leave her alone.
Pat goes to an auto junkyard to get parts for STRIPE, finds an exhaust pipe for a dump truck, and asks the owner Zeek how much it costs. Zeek quotes him a price and Pat immediately agrees to pay it. Afterward, Pat drives to his garage and finds Denise outside with her car. She talks about how she woke up alone and her car just stopped. Pat breaks off the awkward exchange by looking at her car, and offers his condolences. Denise says that she should go for a walk.
In the basement tunnels beneath the American Dream, Jordan goes to the ISA conference room and finds Dragon King-Dr. Ito--waiting. Dragon King is looking at a painting of the ISA and says that now he understands why Jordan brought the team together. He assures Jordan that he'll never betray him the way that Shade did. On Jordan' request, Dragon King dismisses his hooded minions and then tells Jordan that he's been working on his daughter. Jordan tells him that he's accelerating Project New America, and he'll provide Dragon King with what he needs to complete his machine. Dragon King says that he knows how much the machine means to Jordan and to himself.
Dragon King says that Wizard was vile to him when Dragon King first came to Blue Valley, and admits that he's glad Wizard is dead. He asks Jordan for Wizard's body, and Jordan says that he can.
Courtney goes to the gym after school and finds Yolanda hitting a punching bag. Yolanda sees Courtney and tells her to stop following her around, and Courtney tells her that she can't and she needs Yolanda's help. She says that something is going on in Blue Valley and needs Yolanda to help her fight it. Stopping, Yolanda says that she doesn't want anything to do with anyone in the school, and Courtney asks her to come over that night so she can explain. She says that if Yolanda still isn't sold, she'll stop bothering her.
When Courtney asks for Yolanda's phone number, Yolanda tells her that her mother Maria took it and walks off. Courtney follows her and begs Yolanda to come to her house that night, and Yolanda takes Courtney's phone number that she's written down but doesn't promise anything.
When Yolanda returns home, her grandmother looks at her, disappointed. Maria tells Yolanda to go upstairs and will call her down when dinner's ready. Yolanda tells her that she's going to a friend's for dinner, but Maria tells her that she's still grounded. When Yolanda wonders for how long, Maria angrily says until she says otherwise.
In her bedroom, Courtney goes through the yearbook and finds lots of photos of Yolanda. In one of them she's with Henry, and Courtney looks at him contemplatively.
The next day, Yolanda goes to the exercise room and finds Courtney waiting for her. She tells Courtney that she doesn't want to be her friend, and Courtney says that she blew up Henry's car but it wasn't on purpose. She suggests that the enemy of an enemy is her friend, and says that she knows what Henry did to Yolanda. Yolanda apparently isn't impressed and walks away, and Courtney says that she thinks Yolanda is brave for coming to school day after day. When Yolanda says that she never should have sent Henry the photos, Courtney tells her that he shouldn't have shared them.
Crying, Yolanda says that she knew Henry could be a jerk but he was nice to her. She thought things were serious between them, but figures that it wasn't for Henry. Yolanda's parents won't come near the school anymore and don't bring her to church, and her whole life has changed. Yolanda says that she doesn't want to hate anyone, but she hates Henry. Courtney asks if Yolanda wants to see how she blew up Henry's car, and Yolanda says that she does.
Denise drives back to Pat's garage and says that she's leaving Blue Valley for good. She wanted to thank Pat for his kindness, and tells him not to trust the town. Denise says that William didn't have a heart attack and the doctor had recently given him a clean bill of health. She breaks off rather than say anything further, and notices the box full of Joey' magic paraphernalia in the front seat of her car. Denise talks about how Joey wanted to be like his father, and Pat wonders what she means since William was a councilman. The woman says nothing further and drives off. Pat watches her go and looks around suspiciously.
That night in the Dugan house basement, Courtney shows Yolanda the staff and explains that it blew up Henry's car. Courtney leans the staff against a pillar and tells Yolanda that the Staff belonged to her dad, Starman. Yolanda has never heard of Starman or the JSA, and Courtney says that her father was a superhero and so is she. She takes Yolanda up to her room, puts on her Stargirl costume, and gives Yolanda the Wildcat costume. When Yolanda puts on the cowl, the oversized costume shrinks to fit her as it glows with energy from the cowl.
The two girls look up "Wildcat" on Wikipedia to discover what he could do. He could cut through metal using his claws, always landed on his feet, and had catlike agility. Yolanda as the new Wildcat discovers she has the same abilities. Wildcat finally prepares to jump off a tall building to fully test her abilities. When she hesitates, Stargirl puts a hand on her shoulder as a gesture of comfort and says that it's okay. She suggests that they take the stairs and Wildcat goes with her.
Back at the Dugan house, Mike discovers the toaster that Wildcat tested her claws on and calls to Pat.
Stargirl tells Wildcat about the ISA and how Icicle killed Starman. Wildcat wants to go back home before her parents discover she's gone, and Stargirl points out they can't do anything to her friend that they haven't already done. Henry drives past on his way to the hospital, and the two girls figure that Henry is going to the hospital to see his comatose father. Stargirl explains that Henry Sr. is Brainwave and a member of the ISA, but she doesn't know who else is a villain. Wildcat figures the villain would visits Brainwave at the hospital,
Wildcat and Stargirl go to the hospital and Stargirl goes to create a distraction while Wildcat sneaks in. Wildcat uses her claws to climb up the outside wall to Brainwave's seventh-story room. A brick gives and Wildcat starts to fall, but catches herself with her claws. A security guard, Barry, comes out and Beth greets him as she arrives. They chat, unaware of Wildcat above them on the wall,
Climbing into Henry Sr.'s room, Wildcat hides behind the door as a night nurse comes in. Once the orderly leaves, Stargirl meets Wildcat in a supply closet and prepares to turn off the power to the lights. The Staff pulls back, stopping her, and Wildcat points out there are people on life support. Stargirl admits that she's only been a superhero for a week and she has no training.
The Staff pulls Stargirl around the supply closet, knocking over shelves. The nurse hears the noise and enters the maintenance room to check it out, and Wildcat sneaks up to the main desk. Meanwhile, the nurse sees the overturned shelves. Wildcat goes through the files and finds the visitors' log.
Beth takes the dinner she made to her mother, Bridget, who tells her she should spend some time with friends. Meanwhile the nurse calls the janitor, Robert, and complains that he made a mess. Meanwhile, Wildcat sneaks past and ducks into Henry Sr.'s room where Henry is sitting by his father, his back toward the door. The teenaged boy is crying, and Wildcat comes up behind him and extends her claws. Henry says that he misses his father, and Wildcat backs away. She bumps into a cart, alerting Henry to her presence, but she jumps onto the ceiling before he can see her.
After Henry goes, Stargirl flies up to the window then drops down out of sight as Bowin comes in. Wildcat hides behind a curtain, and Bowin takes out a fiddle and plays over the comatose Henry Sr. She looks at Henry Sr. expectantly when she finishes, but nothing happens. Once Bowin goes, Stargirl flies back up to the window and the girls wonder if Bowin is also a villain. Wildcat climbs out the window and up to the ceiling and Stargirl follows her, and Beth watches both of them from the ground below and hears Stargirl call Wildcat "Yolanda".
Back at Courtney's room, Yolanda and Courtney go over the visitors' log and discover that Bowin didn't sign in. They figure Bowin wanted to keep her presence a secret, and Yolanda tells Courtney that she's not her Wildcat. She says that when the photos got around, she didn't want to be her. Yolanda figures she needs to get her life back before she puts on a costume and be someone else, and she can't take on everything else while she's doing that. She gives the Wildcat cowl to Courtney and leaves.
Yolanda returns home and her parents demand to know where she was. Their daughter tells them that she needs them to hear her, and says that she made a mistake and trusted someone she shouldn't have. Yolanda apologizes for bringing shame to her family, but she's done apologizing after she's learned her mistake. She says that she loves them all and asks for their forgiveness, and asks them to help her move forward with her life so she can be the Yolanda she used to be. Maria tells her that she'll never be that Yolanda she used to be, and Yolanda disgraced the family and herself. Yolanda's father Juan tells her to go to her room, and Yolanda goes. Disgusted with his parents, Yolanda's brother Alex walks out as well.
In her room, Yolanda sits on her bed crying. The bedroom window is open, and Yolanda finds the Wildcat cowl and costume sitting in front of it. There's also a note from Courtney, saying that she can't do it alone.
After donning the costume, Wildcat goes to the Dugan house and climbs up to Courtney's bedroom window. Courtney sees her and smiles.
The next day, Pat goes to the junkyard and asks Zeek for some construction equipment. Zeek wonders what Pat is building, jokingly suggesting that he's building a time machine. Pat claims that he's working on a vintage lawn mower. The owner directs Pat to some wrecks and a black cat walks by. Looking up, Pat sees Denise's car among the wrecks. Joey's magician top hat is in the front seat but there's no sign of anyone or anything else.
