The season finale is here and it has the newly formed Justice Society of America against the villainous group called Injustice Society of America and their plan is soon going to be executed, will our heroes save Blue Valley and mankind? This is what we will find out in this episode and it was a phenomenal one. It was written perfectly, was well directed and well written. An episode every superhero fan will enjoy.
The big fight sequence is something that I gotta talk about, it has exactly everything a superhero fight should have: good choreography and visual effects but most importantly the powers how it flows well with the scene and they succeeded in making every person have a fight as important and impressive as the other ones. There is of course a cgi fight but it was actually alright for a tv budget, some movements on Solomon Grundy felt bad but it was alright I'll give them that. Another thing, it was unpredictable to say the least, the whole events that played out during the episode. How they had everyone of the main cast in this episode was so nice to see, right out of a comic book almost.
You gotta give the writers, directors and actors for bringing the comic book characters to life, they all have realistic intentions. It isn't often in superhero shows that you can truly feel and care about the villains and it is often because of the one sided it usually is but here in Stargirl we have followed both groups and getting to know each character and Icicle have landed on my third favorite character after Pat on first and Courtney on second.
I believe our heroes will change quite a lot in the next season, there's huge opportunities for fantastic character development. The episode ended with a lot of possible and interesting story/character arcs.
Superb finale and a great first season! Geoff Johns have succeeded in delivering his personal project from comic book to live action and I can't wait to see what he brings for the second season, only thing I want is the same amount of episodes and budget but I won't have my hopes up because of the show's move to CW.
