Josefina leaves and Maria sarcastically says that she's glad Josefina has an older brother to talk sense into her. She angrily tells Raul that all he does sit and say nothing, and goes out to smoke, and remembers times when her family celebrated in the back, together. Maria then goes to the garage and lights candles, then prays to Santa Muerte.
At the Craft home, Elsa lies in bed with Peter. He assures her that his sons will soon love her as he does, and Elsa asks if having a mixture of cultures in the house is good for the boys. Elsa suggests that the boys should speak German if they learn another language, not Mexican. Peter tells her that Maria has known his sons since they were babies and is a good woman, and Elsa agrees and claims that she's just trying to act like a woman who belongs in a house like Peter's. Goss tells Kurt that he's done his job and wonders if Kurt is falling in love with Townsend. He reminds Kurt that if Kurt doesn't stay uninvolved, he becomes another unnecessary American to Goss. Kurt glares at him but agrees.

He tells Tiago that he has distant cousins in Germany, and one time they came to LA. Germany invaded the Rheinland and no one cared, but it wasn't good for his cousins. Santa Muerte walks away from Maria and Magda, disappearing into the shadows. Maria says that the coyote is her spirit guide, a hunter of the night. Magda asks her why she chose a dog, and Maria tells her that her strength is that she's a dog. The woman tells Magda that she's not welcome there and it's a House of the Lord. Magda laughs, saying that Maria no longer believes, and says that Santa Muerte is the icy finger of death.
Magda breaks the statue of Santa Muerte and says that all life comes from death. Maria asks what she knows of life and talks about how she nurtured life inside of her, while Magda just hunts and kills. Magda tells Maria that she could end her suffering and bring her family back to her like it once was, and Maria refuses to be tempted by her lies. The goddess says that she hears Maria crying out for a savior, and can be that savior if Maria embraces her. Magda tells Maria that it's time for her to rest after all she's done for her family.
