I posted a review a few months back saying that the first season of "The Gifted" had eventually won me over, despite being some way off the pace of the Netflix hero shows, or the Berlanti-Verse. I'm afraid the second season didn't build on that, and I didn't bother making it to the end once I'd heard that the cancellation was confirmed.
The second series sees the Sentinel services largely replaced as a threat by human vigilante groups, who are hunting the mutants. Meanwhile the "inner Circle" instigate their plan to free all mutants from oppression and punish those responsible, and aren't afraid of using violence to achieve their goal.
It's hard to really pinpoint exactly what the failing was, maybe taking the focus away from the central family and towards these various groups that was the problem. Maybe it was the similarities between the pro human groups here and on the recent season of "Supergirl" but for whatever reason, I just couldn't maintain any interest in this run. I let it mount up on the Sky box and then decided that life is too short and deleted it.
