Good for DIY fans and upcyclers
bingobabies5 July 2021
I like this, I feel sorry for Simon sometimes because he sees the real beauty in an object and Gemma comes along with her bloody emulsion and pastel colours and spoils it. The beautiful old dolls house, Georgian looking house with old furniture. They had so many lovely wooden models and she painted them. MY GOD my mum did that in the 1960s and ruined so many antiques. At least they had an excuse it was after the war and they wanted colour because the conscription furniture was so dull. Anyway him and Henry have me in stitches. I've loved Simon since he was on Brookside and to see him do well with property and so on is a joy. Sadly Gemma looks like 1980s Debbie who was Simon's love interest when they were together in Damon and Debbie. So there! Tell us if it comes back with these lot make sure she's not let loose on something like that again. She is so selfish she wanted it how she liked it and took about a grand off the value. She's done it loads. They make mistakes that's the fun but she needs to stop it. Oh and I'm an artist too a real one so I know what I'm talking about LOL.

Cheap Labour?
lesallen-6826813 September 2020
These guys turn up some quirky and interesting items for upcycling. Their ideas are often very good, and similarly the results, but there's no way in 21st century UK that those results could be seriously achieved at their declared costs. The outlays they claim to have spent are just plain ridiculous, and that sadly undermines that whole idea of the programme. The achievements remain worthwhile even if the format is badly flawed.

Entertaining Show!
nosnad717 August 2021
I love this show! It's a very entertaining watch and some of the things they come up with are great. Henry just tends to polish up and restore old items, whilst Simon is a bit more inventive with his turning things into something different. Sometimes this works brilliantly, sometimes it fails miserably! Gemma's lovely and I do love her enthusiasm (and sometimes disdain with what Simon presents her with). But she has an hilarious penchant for absolutely ruining beautiful wooden furniture by painting it in a variety of shocking pastel colours!! Brilliant! Love the programme!

Fun programme, good tips

A really nice watch. Not top level restoration but some great ideas and the presenters make it more entertaining. With money warned often going to good causes, what's not to like?!

Lamp shades
marilynseear15 November 2022
I have just watched the recording of series 2 episode 16. The Harley barrels bedside lamps are the best lamps I have ever seen. If i saw them in a shop i would buy them. The military chest came out perfect too. Not sure about the lime green metal cabinet though. I love watching the shows as I have recycled a couple of items. I hope there are many more series to come. I didn't like the mirror though. Your required characters s a lot at 600. Don't know what else to write. Why do you have to have the voice over and 'coming up' at the break. Don't need to watch to the end of the programme as you have shown the outcomes! Regards Marilyn.

Gemma
antonyh-202735 September 2023
Gotta get rid of Gemma she ruined loads of projects especially with wood she always devalued whatever she touches, love Simon idea,s great eye henry the best I know he picked motor,s or bikes but the valuation there no harm done. Back to Gemma I think she should open a show for fun with kids school classes art 🎨 she nor made for this show I'm thinking it,s Simon choice to have her on must be past time fling and she blackmailing him to get air fame and back to henry side kicks alan and guy great skills to bring pieces back to there best and working ability..Simon other side kick phil knows how to get Simon out the muck gd skill set..

Easy watching fun
Simon and henry travel all over the uk and visit people to dig through junk and unused items in the hope of making money for the owners. Very enjoyable show and a great cast , Its much like american pickers and american restoration in one show, It intresting to see what people would pay for stuff and you do actully learn a few facts about the areas they visit

get rid of Gemma
wendymware26 October 2022
Lovely girl but ruins everything by painting beautiful wood in bilious colours. I wouldn't give her anything to upcycle. Ruined so many lovely things, particularly that old doll's house. Simon is brilliant and I like about 95% of his work. Henry focused too much on cars, bikes and tractors although I like what he does with things like old signs, petrol cans, etc. . Would love to see some old sofas and old chairs reupholstered and brought back to how they were originally. If I wanted wood painted in awful colours I would go to ~Ikea. I also cannot believe what they say they sell the items for. Most of them I wouldn't pay a fraction of the cost on.

Tables and lamps.
bronyraurstompa22 April 2022
This started off as a really good, entertaining program but over time, most of the "fixes" seem to end up as either lamps or tables. It is still entertaining to watch with very likeable presenters but it's got quite predictable and tiresome.

Meh!
noseyparker-0130430 June 2022
Could of been a good programme but unfortunately Gemma is useless and really needs to stay away from upcycling and Henry Cole just chooses motorbikes and tractors all the time, Simon is the only one making an enthusiastic effort and taking challenge!

Easy watching, difficult listening
alanfisher200113 May 2021
Whilst the program is fairly easy watching and quite a nice idea that's fine lots of old junk and do it up and flog it.

The biggest issue for me is awful narrator it's virtually unlistenable having someone shouting for the entire program.

Please get a new narrator and make it more enjoyable to watch.

Shame about change of valuer
catloveruk7 July 2022
I used to enjoy this program. Some of the results were a little dubious to say the least. Also I never understood why Simon challenged Henry to take some crappy worthless item and make it worth something when the brief is supposed to be to make as much as possible for the owner of the shed, barn etc You can't make a silk purse from a sows ear so Simon picking a useless item for Henry to do up puts the mockers on making any kind of decent wedge for the shed or barn owner unless Henry manages to pick up a motorbike or car to offset the loss on Simon's pick. Most disappointing on the latest series is the woke decision to dispense with the services of real experts like Adam Partridge or Alicia Moore (sorry Alicia can't remember how you spell your Christian name). Instead we've now got Ronnie as FIFIFI have got their tickbox out.

Good but spoiled by narrator
john2261526 September 2022
Easy viewing programme with some good tips for DIY. No need though for Rhona Cameron. Firstly, her voice is very grating and loud and, secondly, all she does is repeat what has just been said or state the obvious.

Keep the rest of the team but drop the narrator.

It would be good to see some of the finished items go to an auction to see what they really achieve. I think some would do very well indeed, above the expert valuation, while others would bomb but it's that sort of twist that gives the programme some humour and fun. Henry is very good at that sort of reaction as we have seen in Shed and Buried.

They Don't Flog It
BoringBoo10 April 2024
OK, this show has recently moved to Yesterday so its come up on my radar. I have no idea what's going on. They go round posh people's yards and pick out some choice objects to renovate and sell on for them.....at least thats what it looks like on the surface, however what you get is only a bit of that.

The two pick out some stuff and renovate it with the help of a small guy with long hair and a lady with a masters in textiles. They then invite a guy from the Antiques Road Show round to value the items, he says a price and that is the amount that the seller gets, but is it because we never see an actual sale are they even sold? Does the guy from Antiques Roadshow sell them for them or is there a big warehouse somewhere full of stuff?

There is also the narrator, who has a kind of condescending tone to their voice. They don't appear to have any interest and are just reading lines.

Then there are the amount of plugs that Yesterday does for this programme it's ridiculous. It's a show where it could be good but isn't so I don't know how it has such a high score. If they rescue an old bench I want to see that bench's full journey, from the moment they find it, renovate it and then sell it and then I want to see how the new owners are getting on, but no all we see is them getting it, renovating it and lastly getting it valued, that is it. We do however see the sellers commenting on the money they have made.

Don't watch it, it's not worth a new series there are far better shows which will never see a return.

Find It Bodge It Overvalue It
chrischapman-4754525 March 2024
Alternative title "How to make a silly lamp or coffee table" If in doubt spray it with aerosol paint or wax it. After saying all that it is quite entertaining despite its faults, although it helps if you have an interest in motorbikes and automobilia. I actually find Gemma rather good once you get used to her accent - maybe should have her own makeover show. I feel a bit sorry for Alan Millyard who is an expert motorcycle engineer lumbered with some silly jobs. I also wish they wouldn't just wander off camera after agreeing what to do with their finds, usually involving making a cup of tea. Despite all this it's passable light entertainment, despite the crap puns, and at least it's far better than Money For Nothing....

Not good, not good at all!
Some great items, but horribly contrived with a terrible narrator. Seemingly low quality fixes and hardly worth the valuations. Not surprising that it was cancelled.

Lazy bones
freddyyates9 November 2022
Simon really does my head in, he leaves everything rusty. He bitches about Henry all the time, but if you notice it is Henry that brings the money in. Simon is suppose to be a top designer, all he ever does are lamps, coffee tables, and thinks he has done something out of this world. He moans about Henry and his motor bikes, but what about him and his wood. Him and Gemma go and make deals and they always lose money, they should be made to make up the differents. If Henry leaves the show it is down to Simon, that is when I will stop watching. I like Henry as you can guess, he does things properly, as I suffer from OCD he is my sort of restorer. I know I will get some back lash from this, but it is my opinion.

Not good
AMAZINGzingzing10 July 2023
A decent programme ruined by an annoying narrator and childish sound effects

The 2 main presenters are likeable and are very knowledgeable in restoration And motorcycles, unlike jay blades who does nothing at All

The only problem with the show is the annoying narrator who won't stop talking

Henry is painting a table And the narrator has to scream,"AND HENRY IS NOW PAINTING A TABLE" she does this throughout the program And it makes it completely unwatchable, Why? Who thought this was a good idea?

Another really annoying thing is they add a pointless sound effect jingle which is repeated every 2 minutes,

it serves no purpose this isn't blue Peter,

I suspect the 2 main presenters will be replaced by someone more "vibrant" anyday soon.
