You have questions. Let me explain. (Pt. 2)
opreston-1 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
How could you not have enjoyed and had fun with this episode? It had Beta going around Alexandria and murdering people, Daryl vs. Alpha, and most importantly, Scott screentime!

But seriously, with how fantastic this episode was, no one of importance died despite the high-stakes action and chaos. For me, it wasn't a problem given how much death there was in the first place, but I can tell there will be people annoyed with the "plot armor" the characters had. Hard to blame them for being annoyed, after all, there was indeed a lot of plot armor this episode. However, it wasn't absurd or unbelievable, it's explainable and understandable.

How did the Whisperers build a tunnel to Alexandria?

  • With the help of Dante. Dante killed Cheryl, the sick old lady he suffocated, as an excuse to dig an entrance tunnel for the Whisperers. The Whisperers have literally nothing else to do, so it's not unbelievable they took the time to methodically and accurately build a tunnel to Alexandria over the course of months with Dante giving them information the entire time he stayed there.

Why didn't Laura (Barcode-Neck Savior) kill Beta when she had the chance?

  • Laura was following Gabriel's instructions: Keep the Whisperers alive and torture them to extract information. Unfortunately, she chose the wrong one to try and keep alive.

Why didn't Judith double-tap?!

  • She was visibly shaken; this had been the first time she shot someone thinking she killed a person. This is especially understandable considering she's 10-12.

Why didn't Daryl just kill Alpha?

  • When Daryl impales Alpha's shoulder with a branch, he screams, "Where are they? Tell me!" By "them" he means Magna and Connie. Daryl wants to know the cave paths that'll lead to Magna and Connie without getting lost in the cave himself.

How come Daryl and Alpha didn't die from blood loss?

  • It seems as though Alpha hit an artery in Daryl's leg given how much blood was spraying out and leaking, which would mean he certainly wouldn't have lasted that long laying there. Only explanation is Alpha didn't in fact hit something as major as an artery. But let's be real people, it's Daryl. If he had died from a wound like that we'd be raising hell. Alpha's wound was more survivable.

Also, Gabriel is a badass human lie detector now. "I've spoken with God, he told me to hang you."

Sidebar: Can't wait for Bababooe's 1/10 star "The Walking Soap Opera!" review. They're always so wonderfully absurd, and very fun to read.

Beta plot device
yoghert_5523 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
They had three very good chances to kill Delta, but just did not. Why? why do they never learn? you need to kill, or capture the leaders to end the war. It's the same with Negan, as with Alpha, as with Beta. They just freeze when they have the perfect chance.

That guard by the cell, had her spear to his neck, just push. End him, or stab him so he is decapitated and lock him up.

Judith could have easily double tapped him after she shot him, they should have noticed he was wearing a vest.

And the ambush party in the wood could have easily surrounded him, they were 6 against 2, but all 6 jump out from the front? wtf? Gabriel had a shotgun at 3 meters aim from the forest. He could have easily waited for them to walk a bit further and just blast him. Where did his bloodthirst go? like right before he went out he talked about capturing them and pulling teeths... maybe make sure he doesn't escape when you have the absolute perfect opportunity to catch him...

It's bad writing. sooo laaazy. And obvious plot device.Just don't write these scenes if you have to keep him alive then..

Halloween vibes !!
jacklivi-128701 March 2020
Before people ask why a review this early AMC premier gives you the episode 2 days before actual release.

Anyway this episode was extremely intense with strong horror vibes and great fight sequences, definitely one of the better episodes this season.

Finally !!!

Warning: Spoilers
(Major spoilers on the way) For starters this episode felt like old golden age TWD episodes. Seriously wow. Full of Horror, intense and full of "edge of your seat" moments.

Alpha vs Daryl was pretty crazy. I definitely didn't expect to see it happen and the damage they caused to on one and other. It was so intense that seriously at one point I thought Alpha would die.

Beta was definitely a kill machine in this episode. Holly fork. So many close calls tbh. But at least they find a way to justify why he didn't die after Judith shot him. He had a bullet proof vest. And let's be honest one that stand in his way could kill him so...

Lydia is back. And it looks like finally she has chosen the side. Good for her.

All in all most intense eps. of the season. It was really great. Writing so much spoilers so that people would believe that I am not a bot and actually I have seen it!!!!!

Warning: Spoilers
The stupidity of the writing isn't even baffling at this point because this has been the standard for at least a few seasons now. How on earth do the writers keep making the same mistakes over and over and over? Do they know and just not care or they really just that incompetent? They should rename this show to The Walking Plot Armour because that's genuinely what it's become. The first fight sequence involving Daryl was imbecilic on so many levels. Daryl is supposed to be intelligent, cool, and extremely calculated, but that is certainly not what I saw here. Why is he even going for Alpha anyways, didn't he just scold Carol for doing the same literally last episode? Obligatory arrow hitting an extra and not the main villain who is literally stood right there btw. So Daryl and Alpha slash each other up and somehow survive copious amounts of bleeding, okay. Lydia somehow also magically knows where they are, and is apparently now a medic.

Gabriel's character has also been completely destroyed. The man who once vowed to never ever kill and was petrified of the act, is now bloodthirsty, smug about murdering, and advocating torture techniques. Character development is supposed to actually make sense. Chuck in the usual TWD trope of "you stay here I'll go. No I'm going. No you stay. No I'm not staying." Do they not get tired of writing the same thing over and over?

There was yet more stupidity littered throughout this episode. Laura could literally have beheaded Beta there and then but decided to hold an axe to his throat and just stand there. Like what??? No one attempted to make sure he was dead when he got shot, no one made any kind of effort to actually kill him. The plot armour is just incredible, truly.

The only things keeping this show from being completely all the way trash is occasional moments of nice characterisation (such as Alpha and Lydia) and also formal elements. I am a big fan of the cinematography, that's one thing they've definitely got right. The sequence where Beta first enters Alexandria is also really excellently shot and genuinely makes him out to be a fearsome, completely deranged villain. It's a shame the writing ruins all this.

Low 6

The Confrontation Between Daryl and Alpha
claudio_carvalho4 April 2020
Gamma goes to Alexandria and tells to Rosita and Gabriel that their friends are trapped in a cave with the horde of walkers, but Gabriel arrests her in the cell. Meanwhile Daryl sees Alpha leading a group of walkers and they fight. They are both wounded and Daryl flees to an abandoned mechanical shop in a gas station. Beta breaks into Alexandria through a tunnel and kills residents, turning them into walkers. Daryl and Alpha are dying in the gas station when Lydia arrives and rescues Daryl.

"Stalker" shows the confrontation between Daryl and Alpha in the best moment of the show. However, Beta wearing a bulletproof vest is awful. My vote is seven.

Title (Brazil): "Stalker"

Note: On 09 January 2024, I saw this episode again.

Are you bleeding to death? No problem! Just take a nap! Everything is going to be good in the morning!
sadako112 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Are you badly hurt? Are you starting to see ghost from your past and you feel death approaching and wanna die? No worries!! Just take a nap! everything is going to be good in the morning!!

Apparently Daryl and Alpha have Wolverine's healing power. Both of them were welcoming death, specially Daryl who entered in shock because of the amount of blood he lost. But apparently Alphas's daughter is a medic because she fixed Daryl and gave him a blood transfusion. Ridiculous.

What a lousy episode! So many chances to kill alpha and beta wasted! Just the producers of the show teasing the audience.

At the end of the episode the status quo of the groups is the same. Nothing changed.

This was an action pack pointless filler.

This episode shows the strength of the group at Alexandria. Also sympathy for other people! Then it has this creepy dark tone with Beta that reminds me of Season 4!

I just love this episode for it's dark tone! I feel like we should get more of this kind of episodes in twd cause it's supposed to be Dark and Gore that's what got me intressered from the beginning!

This is the best episode of Season 10 and probably one of the best in a very long time!

Best episode since the calm before
randomgames-878352 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Such a fantastic episode and LOVED the fact there was a new environment, the gas station. It wasn't a huge completey different set but I was becoming sick of the woods and Alexandria being the only sets ever. Would love to see the series head back to a city or run down area, make the world really feel like it was lives in because since season 5 the sets have largely been the same and it's starting to be boring. Thankfully this half of the season has started to mix it up with the cave and gas station. The whole episode was creepy and tense. Samantha Morton absolutely nails her acting once again perfectly blending evil and villainous with a human side. Beta felt very threatening and showed he has real power and domain over the survivors. I don't know who the new director for this episode is but I pray they return more often. For me this episode completely reignited the flame of the show.

The horror vibes
davisond-957302 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Since The Walking Dead aired there had not been many episodes on the show that was scary and that is disappointing for a horror show but this was hella fun.

Daryl is searching for a different way to enter the cave and comes across Alpha and a few whisperers lurking, probably attracted from Carol and her dynamite. He stalks them silently sneaking through the woods and the two have a brutal face off. Alpha is impaled with a tree branch and takes several stab wounds and Daryl has a sharp knife stuck in his leg, both really injured and unable to fight each other. Lydia shows up refusing to put Alpha out of her misery and Saves Daryl.

Meanwhile in Alexandria, Gamma has arrived and nobody trusts her so she's thrown into the cell. A whisperer decoy attracts most of the residents leaving only a few within the walls as Beta emerges from the grounds due to a tunnel that Dante and other whisperers had created. He then creeps through the streets, house to house and slaughters the survivors waiting for them to turn. He kills Laura by breaking her back against the cell walls, He even enters the Grimes house forcing Judith to use the signature weapon, Ricks revolver. He gets into another fight with Rosita but fails and Gabriel scares him off into the night.

This episode was well and truly creepy and both storylines were entertaining and thrilling, Beta became Michael Myers and Daryl went from hunter to the hunted, one of the best of the season. The cinematography, atmosphere and gore was a 10/10 as usual lately and the episode as a whole too.

Some scenes with Beta felt like a horror slasher movie, I was not expecting so much to happen this episode it was very action packed and a lot of characters got to shine. So far this second half of Season 10 is going great.

Phenomenal episode with some of the best acting of the season, an episode we will remember for years to come
Holt3442 March 2020
Just wow, what an episode, this has to be one of the best and suspenseful episodes of the whole show. It's beautifully directed, nice cinematography and the music oh what a great musical score in this episode it captures the horror of The Walking Dead, using music and silence in various of scenes sets the mood correctly of the Whisperer Story Arc. The episode follows directly where we left off but this time changing point of view to Alexandria and Daryl as he hunts down the responsible for the possible death of Connie and Magna but I'm sure they're alive. Won't spoil anything that happens but it's full of suspense and you'll sit on the edge of your seat.

The acting is phenomenal, especially in the performances of Ryan Hurst as Beta I just love his take on the villain. Thora Birch and Samantha Morton was two others who gave great performances as Gamma and Alpha. The whole ensemble did great, delivering superb performances and some really memorable ones. Angela Kang is better than ever, writing a unique and exciting story and finally nailing the dialogue done which have at times been lacking. I've praised her before but this episode just shows her experience in the show and as a writer, can't wait to see what unfolds in the upcoming episodes of The Walking Dead.

What a Ride!! Watch it in the dark
boka00004 March 2020
Boy oh boy, I'm truly baffled by the 1s and 2s. I understand that each has their own opinion but now it really looks silly to rate that low. Anyway, the episode was creepy from the get go. The tempo had me vibrating at a high frequency and was maintained throughout. I won't go into any spoilers but the sense of realism and the true essence of the whisperers was felt to the bone in this one. Kudos to the director, the music scoring, the great angles and creative shooting as well as the well edited sequences that had me personally on Full Alert mode without ever missing a beat.

Hope this high level is kept till the end of the season as the last episode was disappointing to say the least. I believe all we're asking for is to maintain the crippling sense of fear and be reminded that no one is safe.

10/10 for me

Very Decent & Entertaining Episode
panagiotis199315 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Apparently it seems like Alpha can move the horde from place to place within a matter of minutes, not believable. How exactly Beta got inside Alexandria, he came out of a grave? Did he have to dig a hole or something? I mean I like the whole idea of Beta terrorizing Alexandria, it's awesome but this made no sense. Btw we need more Beta, his presence on screen is brutal, he is such a beast, definitely stronger than Alpha. The relationship between Gabriel and Rosita is not convincing at all, there is no chemistry between them, maybe its time to break up. This episode had me worried about Daryl but we all know they wouldnt let him die no matter how injured he may be. Lydia is back, I don't really care about her character though, i hope she gets less and less screen time. The episode was very entertaining overall, it has many intense scenes and action so I cant complain. Definitely better than episodes 8 and 9. Its a 7/10 from me.

Best episode of Season 10
Splarke222 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
In the most action-packed episode of the season so far, TWD showed just how great of storytelling it has left in it, 10 seasons in. Daryl fighting Alpha & Beta killing Alexandrians like no tomorrow were both extremely intense, crazy, & thrilling parts of 10x10! I also loved Mary in this episode too & am starting to fear that we could be losing either Rosita or Gabriel before the end of the season now.. Such an incredible episode all around with great acting all across the board. 10/10 for 10x10!

Crap and Great
utblucand2 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Let's talk about the scene in Alexandra, it was perfect. Perfectly written and made. From how Dante left this tunnel for them from the begging, so he's death wasn't in vain for the whispers. The sound and effect when Beta blew out the light gave me chills. And the camera angle outside the house, quiet while they got killed by Beta.

But why would Gabriel and the other stay out there. Did they just assumed that Rostia and the other had the situation under contoll. And what is the odd for them to be in the perfect place where Beta and Gamma where.

To the crap part - The clash between Daryl and Alpha was slow pasted and almost at the point where it was boring. We knew neither of them would die in the situation they were in. Why would Alpha suddenly be in a so unsafe position from out of nowhere. With only 2 or 3 whispers with Alpha. Secondly what happened with Daryl going looking for Magna and Connie. I know, he was at the mine entrance with Alpha, but why would he go after her and just leave them.

The only thing that redeem it was there dialogue and acting. The scrpit from the part when Lydia just suddenly appears, having a worthless dialogue with Alpha and just leaving her behind. Just not that, she somehow got Daryl out there and he was fine after all those wounds. I don't want to see Daryl die, but the plot armour it this moment was just crap.

Without the situation at Alexandria this would have been a 3 or a 4 for me

They're just human
rubya3 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
What made this show great before was that, despite the zombies, it was sort of realistic when it came to the living humans. They were flawed, with human reactions.

Lydia in this episode tells her mother the group is human... errr... we've not been watching the same people here. Last week we had Carol who displayed a level of stupidity that blows your mind, even for a grief stricken person. This week Gabriel suddenly has super powers of truth detection (and is able to keep a straight face while saying it, I know I was laughing it was so cliche) and grown a big pair wanting to torture whisperers and "he talked to God". Daryl first gets a cut to the face (not clear where), can't see for the blood in his eyes, but would he try to wipe his face, would he?! Then he survives a blood squirting cut to an artery in the leg with a small bandage from Lydia and some sleep. Then one after the other, nobody seems able to cut, stab or shoot Beta in any way that could possibly slow him down just a little. Only Judith, a child, seems able to aim properly and that's through a door! I mean, your biggest enemy is in the house, he's killed some of your people, he wants to kill you and you don't stab him in the head the first chance you have?

They all talk the big bad-ass talk but most of them are useless.

And then you have the "Thriller" video of Beta's hand coming out of the grave/tunnel grasping at air and emerging like a supernatural monster to sneak around Alexandria Jason style. Please...
