Well conceived but patchy

Good use of Schiele's paintings, archival photos and correspondence to tell the story. And they didn't shy away from him being a narcissist. Some gaps though; no mention when he was sixteen he took his twelve-year-old sister, Gerti, by train to Trieste and spent a night in a hotel room with her. There was some hints of an incestuous relationship and, coupled with his father's venereal disease, all seemed to feed his later work. Also no mention that the work he did in prison was laughably histrionic and another manifestation of his ego. No mention of how he reacted to the news he was to be a father. Surely a major life event. Plus the doco really does end very abruptly! Otherwise quite a good primer for anyone who doesn't know his story.
