How to come up with a quality fan movie

Warning: Spoilers
"Sisters of House Black" is a British live action short film that runs for 42.5 minutes including credits and this is a duration that is always a bit critical because it is still not even half as long as a full feature film, but you somehow already build expectations like you do with long movies because if it basly-written, poorly-acted etc. then it is long enough to drag quite a bit. But this one here does not do such things. The two directors (one of them experienced, the other not so much) are doing a good job. The script is interesting enough too from different perspectives. This one is by Kelsey Ellison, who is also a producer and plays one of the three title characters we got here. Massive involvement by her for this one. Of course, it does take us into the world and universe of Joanne K. Rowling's Harry Potter franchise. However, it takes place several decades earlier, which can best be seen by how young Bellatrix Lestrange/Black is still in this one. She is the character you will immediately recognize, also because Ellison really looks a lot like Bonham Carter, just in young. I was really impressed by this. And they did not simply cast her because of that because obviously I mentioned her involvement in detail earlier. We find out about a group of sisters, how they face certain challenges that do not only require them to work together in order to become these obstacles, but eventually also cause major conflict within the trio, mostly between the two dark-haired girls. I think basically everything was done correct here. It's tough to find flaws. The connection to Potter is neither too vague nor too specific. The characters and their actions make sense. The atmosphere feels like taken out of a Potter film directly. Special effects, costumes and sets are nice too. So I would say it is really really good for a fan film and also quite okay for a film in general. It is of course a big challenge to make an addition to this franchise that is so adored by many now almost a decade after it ended (if we don't count the Redmayne films), but they managed nicely here. I am a bit impressed. And while I certainly do not dislike Potter, maybe the "real" fans will enjoy this one even more. For me no hesitation in giving this one a thumbs-up. It's well-deserved that this one has already scored 300k views in only a week since its release on Youtube. Go check it out unless you totally despite everything Potter-related. Fan film makers can really learn a lot from this one here.

The best fanmade film

I have watched all fanmade films in the HP universe and this is the best, great story, awesome actors, it was loyal to the books, and added a plus side to the characters.

Thank you for making it!
