The best yet.

The pair are called in to investigate a dodgy removal firm, and get caught up in all manner of things.

I have sometimes been a little critical of the show, sometimes they get the balance of humour and drama wrong, they have sometimes been silly, this episode however gets the balance spot on. For me this is the best episode of the show so far.

The story is very well plotted out, it's clever, a great mystery, but better still we get some real depth to the characters. We have never known the reason why Frank left the Police, we learn a lot more about him and Marlowe here, not quite everything, but we know more.

James Dreyfus was great, he's showed several times over the years how versatile an actor he is, from Goody to serious roles in Waking the Dead and Double Time.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. 9/10

Hathaway's backstory

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is revelatory, being the season 2 finale. Lu is now a qualified PI, and Hathaway shows his tender caring side when he was DI Marlow's boss back in the day. In fact, Hathaway sacrificed his police career to protect Marlow, which explains why Marlow gives him much leeway, much to the consternation of DS Keeler. Good to see Keeler getting more screen time, especially with Hathaway fighting for their lives.

A newly married couple move into a new home but find that their furniture removal van has yet to arrive.

Lu and Frank find that the ther furniture removal man runs this as a common scam. However the man turns up dead and Frank's shifty friend Spider ends up being a suspect.

We get to learn a little more of Frank's backstory. Why he left the police force and why DI Marlowe is so loyal to him. It seems Frank took a fall for Marlowe when she made an error.

James Dreyfus better known for campy roles early in his career plays a ruthless gangster who is after something the removal man stole. There is a race against time as Spider, Frank and DS Keeler find themselves trapped.

An enjoyable and thrilling adventure for the second series finale. The second series overall had a good balance of mystery and humour.
