God is great, but even he could not keep this awards show from happening

Warning: Spoilers
The title "Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2019" here is fairly self-explanatory as what we got here is an awards show for the young ones, in which they could vote for their favorites in a whole lot of categories. Hosts are DJ Khaled, barely know him at all, and Jojo, sure don't know her, not the JoJo I came across many years ago. But yeah, they are not really hosting anyway, but more having a little battle like it happened in previous editions of these awrads too. I couldn't care less who wins though, but it was not the newest idea here honestly. By the way, is there any awards show Glenn Weiss isn't directing. Oh well, here he seemingly turned into an animal, but that sure won't stop him. Was by the way one of the only mildly entertaining moments of the night. The acceptance speeches were fairly boring and felt way too staged. All of them really. The moments that deliver the usual anti-bullying and pro-being-different phrases made zero impact as well and it feels almost embarrassing now to see topics like these treated so shoddily. What else? Oh yeah the awards: The good news is that most of the show were awards being given out, no constant music performances as filler material. The bad news is the names of the awards (categories) felt so random that you can only shake your head. I mean the show ended with Favorite Male Voice from an Animated Movie. This is the last category of the night. But this also shows that it is never about the categories, but always about the names because Adam Sandler sure is a big name, even if he is not winning much more than Kids Choice awards these days. They always loved him though. A bit of a pity as I like him. So they kept his appearance until the very end. This also shows that even if I don't think the voting is rigged that really all the winners knew exactly they were winning or at least some of them and seeing genuine delight and surprise in their faces is nothing you can replace whatsoever. Especially not at an awards show! It is a negative deal breaker. How the slime came immediately after Sandler said about not wanting it to happen and Pratt doing the exact same thing very early on was just painful to watch. Well, never been a Pratt fan either. Since he is out of Parks&Rec, he has become so unlikable and him being in all these blockbusters sure isn't helping. At least when Sandler came on stage, everybody knew (due to Pratt, but also others) already what was going on there. Okay what else can i say except that this is not an awards show you would want your kids to see. Oh yeah, luckily it only runs for 66 minutes approximately, which is really short for an awards show, but I guess they took kids' attention span into consideration here and it was a good decision, not just because of said attention span, but especially because of the (lack of) quality here. Oh yeah some advertizement too in here. A new Dora movie and the lead actress looks pretty cute and Del Toro on board is never a bad thing. Says a lot that I found this far more interesting than Will Smith and his Aladdin promo in here. Man he is getting tough to watch these days, like an American Til Schweiger and my fellow Germans will understand this is not a compliment. I also found the Aladdin trailer looked genuinely disappointing. I am not sure if I will be able to sit through Smith's jinn for over 90 minutes, probably way over. Okay I think that's all. Only good things here were like I already said the girls were cute, some of them Lilimar too and that it was so short. Big thumbs-down from me. Highly not recommended.
