I played this on an emulator and it was pretty cool. I always enjoy a good beat em up and I liked how this one featured zombies, werewolves, Dr. Frankenstein and many more during the course of its campaign. It had a pretty long run time for an arcade game and from the way the game showed the basic controls during the pregame, I imagine this thing was built for the Neo Geo arcade machine which means one could probably buy it for home use, those rare few people back in the day who could afford one...
The story has monsters ravaging the land and taking over. A family is about to be killed when a dude with cyborg arms comes in and teaches the zombies a lesson. A vampire hunter and a master of the martial arts follows and we have our heroes as they must traverse a hospital, the countryside, a castle and then the lair of the ultimate evil to save the day!
As an arcade game it is sort of fair. I played through the first time and maybe used the equivalent of five dollars worth of quarters to get through this thing. I found myself improving; however, some cheap deaths are to be expected. It also does the whole super move causes damage to your character thing. Still, I would play it again as one of the other two characters, I was cyborg arm in this go around as I liked the play style and aesthetics of it.
So, a solid beat em up game that is a bit different thanks to its inclusion of zombies. It is nice to just punch them in the face and watch as they dissolve! I imagine this would be a fun game to own back in the day if you had a Neo Geo and two friends to try and conquer the game with. Of course, this game is kind of one of the main genre of games for that system. I would say this is number 2 and the number one genre is fighting games. Three would be run and guns and then probably space shoot em ups. Most of their games are fun as long as you like to play these genres.
