An Ideal Husband (I) (1999)
what a complete waste of time
14 July 1999
I was forced against my will to see this movie. It was terrible. I was sitting there in the theater and I wanted to cry. I did fall asleep intermittently. There were so many big name actors but the movie crept along at a snail's pace and was so unbelievably boring! Watching An Ideal Husband brings to mind the one episode of Friend's, where 'Monica' says, "Those were two hours of my life that I can never get back, and that scared me."

one of my top 10 favorites!
10 July 1999
This movie is definitely on the list of my top 10 favorites. The voices for the animals are wonderful. Sally Field and Michael J. Fox are both brilliant as the sassy feline and the young inexperienced pooch, but the real standout is Don Ameche as the old, faithful golden retriever. This movie is a great family movie because it can be appreciated and loved by children as well as adults. Humorous and suspenseful, and guaranteed to make every animal lover cry! (happy tears!)

a good movie!
7 July 1999
In the grand tradition of B horror movies, this one does have nudity (not to disappoint the male viewers) and stereotypes its characters like crazy, but it was good and actually scary. These were mostly unheard-of actors but they all did a good job. Clea DuVall has gone on since to do other movies: The Faculty and She's All That to name a few. Sheeri Rappaport, Mimi Reichmeister and Jennifer Rubin all were excellent. This movie was a very very effective contribution to the horror genre.

I've Been Waiting for You (1998 TV Movie)
I've Been Waiting For You

It's good! Pretty scary, I was surprised. The acting wasn't cheezy like in a lot of made for tv movies. I thought the plot was good but I was a tiny bit disappointed by the ending...but just a little. Go see it!

Uncle Sam (1996 Video)

it completely blew but'll give you a good laugh!
28 June 1999
We picked up this movie at the video rental store thinking that this would give us a good laugh, and that's exactly what happened, although the laughter was really just mocking what a lame movie Uncle Sam is. There were so many things TO laugh at: the plot was completely lame, the dialogue unrealistic, the acting terrible, yet I still think that for as bad as it was, it should have been funnier. There have been many "horror movies" that have been as low budget and bad as this one, like Jack Frost for instance, but something about this one was just not as funny. Maybe it was almost TOO bad to be funny. This movie is completely pathetic, but oh well- it was a cheap low budget film, what else can be expected?

this flick is a real winner!
28 June 1999
Whoever is a fan of REAL horror movies should love Campfire Tales. It did include recognizable actors, and the stories truly were scary. I was watching it with my friends in a cold, dark basement and I was honestly on the edge of my seat. I recognized the urban legends that the stories were based on, which made the movie even more freaky, because you have to wonder if it really IS just an urban legend or not? So, ok there was the pointless horror movie sex, but who's complaining? Overall I'd say an awesome movie- why did this never go to theaters?????

a terrible adaptation of a Clark masterpiece
28 June 1999
Like watching any movie after reading the book, I felt expectedly disappointed. The plot was altered in many ways from the novel, which I deem to be much better than this mediocre adaptation of yet another Clark masterpiece. All of the movies based on Clark's books have been disappointing, because no movie can capture the intricacy and suspense designed by Clark, one of America's top mystery/suspense writers. I'm 16 years old and have never idolized an author's talent more than Clarks, and it is disappointing to see her novel made into a movie of this quality. Thoroughly disappointing.

not bad!
27 June 1999
So, ok. In lieu of the completely dumb title, this movie is actually kind of good- do not be deceived! It kind of lost me at the end, because I had no idea who was who. Like all horror movies it did include a pointless sex scene, but who's complaining? The flashbacks of the mother were great, and the setting of this movie was very innovative- an old theater is a great place to stage a horror movie. The scenery rocked my world three times over. I can't quite put my finger on it but this movie was different that all the other teen slasher flicks. The lead character looked startlingly like one of my friends, who coincidentally, is named Sarah. While watching The Clown At Midnight, I was thinking Phantom of the Opera meets Scream. I definitely recommend this movie to anyone who likes horror movies a lot and would like to view a good, modern one. Enjoy!

adorable!
27 June 1999
A stereotypical portrayal of a Beverly Hills "Wilderness Girls" troup of pre-adolescent girls and their flighty but maternal leader, Phyllis Neffler, played by Shelley Long. Phyllis is going through a "terribly messy divorce" to her husband Fred the Muffler Man and decides on a whim to take over her daughter, Hannah's troup. The group encounters many problems that spawn from the jealousy of Velda Plender, the organization's leader who resents the rather "untraditional" ways of the Beverly Hills troup. All of these hilarious incidents lead up to the Wilderness jambouree where... oh see for yourself! Although not particularly deep, this movie is sentimental, hilarious, and adorable all rolled into one. The antics of the sheltered Beverly Hills troup are guaranteed to make you laugh. This movie is definitely a must see!

a rather good film!
27 June 1999
I first saw this movie when I was about 7 or so, and although most of it was above both my sister and me, it nevertheless gave us a good scare, and became one of our favorite movies. I decided to pop it in the vcr recently during a wave of childhood movie nostalgia, and what I found was an intriguing movie. Although this movie is one I would consider to be a sentimental favorite, there is some cheezy dialogue, and numerous plot holes (what exactly IS the watcher in the woods?). The movie leaves the watcher with more than one unanswered question, but it is indeed conducive to a good scare! A highlight of the movie is Bette Davis, in her last on-screen appearance as the lonely neighbor. I recommend this movie to those who are open to a movie that is not perfect, but in its own way very delightful. A must see!

Suspiria (1977)

original and artistic!
27 June 1999
I have never before finished watching a movie, just sitting there with my mouth hanging wide open like I did after viewing Suspiria. The beginning of the movie is completely gripping with an originally gruesome double murder. The plot is rather hard to follow at times, but throughout the entire movie I could not wait to find out who or what the directress really was. Some of the most original death scenes I've ever seen were in Suspiria, (two words: metal coils). This was the first movie I've ever walked away from completely enthralled by the artistic aspects. I have never seen more artistically effective camera angles, and Argento's use of color is purely an amazing work of art. I highly recommend this movie, if anything, because of the incredibly camera work and lighting. This movie is gripping and gruesome, but you won't regret seeing it!

Whoa!
25 June 1999
When I saw this movie with my friends Megan and Carrie and wait...I forget if Kristy was there but anyhoo, when I saw it in Megan's basement we were sitting there eating Pengiun after Penguin (those are my favorite candies by the way) we had rented it at Blockbuster and we were so surprised by the ending!!!! We were like, whoa... I mean it was a completely cheezy horror flick- the acting was bad, the script was unnatural, and the plot had more holes than an old pair of socks yet something about the movie just makes you HAVE to keep watching until the end. You know what I mean, jelly bean? That mother was completely wacked out! I would be sad if that was my mother. I would probably run away. I was born the year that movie was made!
