The Shadow Men (1997)
Not a great movie, but a good one...
I thought Shadow Men was good, for a direct-to-video flick. Oh sure, the special effects weren't great and there were a few plot holes here and there, but otherwise, it was ok. There was a sort of creepiness about the whole thing. Afterall, would you really want to be chased by the MiB? (And I'm not talking about the light-hearted MiB of Jones and Smith).
Girl in Gold Boots (1968)
Why, oh why, did they make this?!
Movies serve a purpose. To teach a lesson and to entertain by telling a well-woven story. This movie did neither. Oh sure, it had something of a vague plot-twist (if you squint and tilt your head), where the man we think is the hero at the beginning turns out to be the non-threatening bad guy at the end. But plot-twists, no matter how vague, do not a movie make. For those of you MST3K fans (which have no doubt seen this featured on the most recent episode), you might, as I did, consider this to be on a level with "Manos, the Hands of Fate."
Asylum of Satan (1972)
Oh... it's just BAD!
I am ashamed to say I have seen this movie. And more than once. Why? I guess I'm just a sucker for pain. But really, Nick Jolly? Where did they find this guy? For that matter, where did they find any of these people? I'd say "Asylum of Satan" should be burned, but it's just too much fun to make fun of a la MST3K (who, by the way, would have a field day with this stink-burger!).
