Shades (2000– )
My views on what I seen of this series and a few critical plot points.
8 February 2002
An unusual and imaginative ghost story with many twists. Two widely different people die on the same day and find themselves still on Earth and able to interact with others under certain conditions. They can be seen by strangers but not by people who once knew them. And the strangers forget about them as soon as they loose eye contact. But a trace memory remains so they can affect a small amount of change. This creates many situations both comic and tragic. Fine acting and no special effects makes this a very entertaining series.

The Movie That Never Was
13 January 2001
This movie was never intended for the light of day because it was made only to retain the rights to the Fantastic 4 so a BIG BUDGET movie could be made later. If you like Roger Corman movies you will like it (I do) but don't expect too much. Given that it was made on a minimal budget this is an entertaining movie. The special effects are a little cheesy but the costume and make-up for the "Thing" are very well done. A must for collectors of cult movies.

better left as was
27 June 1999
I originally saw this because I heard that after the principal shooting was done the producers filmed extra footage, the rape and breeding shots (including the shower shot with a body double) and edited them into the movie. I could tell what was inserted and feel that they did not improve the movie one bit. The original would have made a great B movie (lots of blood and gore and mutant monsters) but the breeding subplot really killed it for me. The movie makes a lot more sense once you realize what was originally filmed and what was added for the jiggle factor. I rate this a 7 for the orignal and a 3 for the padded version.
