Shopping (1994)
Let's Do CRIME!!!
Ah yes, Shopping, after watching it for a seventh time tonight, I truly realize it's a horrible movie. A prime example of why you shouldn't just buy a movie because someone you like is in it, or else you end up with this one...and "White Squall" So why is this movie so...bad? Well, I'll admit, I'm a female who lives in Alaska, so naturally, I won't understand the English sub-culture. Plus, car chases and bad accents just don't do it for me...any more. It seemed like the writers of Shopping really really really wanted a catch phrase to be associated with the film, so instead of focusing on one really catchy one, they throw out a bunch of mediocre ones, hoping they'll do, and they just don't. My personal favorite is when one of the dumber of the thugs joyously decrees "Let's Do Crime!!!" While happily raising his bat in the air, sadly he is told to shut up. What's up with that? All in all, it's a boring movie, and there is no plot of point to it. Plus there's no character development. This movie is trite, and don't buy it unless you've seen it. Boy, I learned that the hard way.
Blossom: Pilot (1990)
Blossom was such a great tv show!!!!
Oh my goodness Blossoms was my favorite TV show back in the day.It was SUCH a great show!!! and who in the world could forget Blossom's choice in hats??Delicious! This and Full House have to be the best tv shows from the early 90's. Blossom is a wonderful piece of television and I suggest all of you out there on the net go and watch it!!
Norma Jean & Marilyn (1996)
You know it's bad when they can't spell Marilyn's name right.
Marilyn's real name was Norma Jeane (notice the e at the end!!!) HBO spelled it Jean. I think that little error can almost sum up the movie. They cut away at the facts in order to make Marilyn a drugged out schizophrenic. All in the name of drama, of course. The best (or worst part about it) was the fact that there have been allegations that Ted Jordan, the man that the story revolves around, may not have even known Marilyn until they met at the shooting of he film Niagara. To top it off, the actors look nothing like the people they are portraying. Any one who knows anything about Marilyn, and loves her, will hate this movie. It is yet another exploitation of the lady who was exploited enough in her own life time. Why can't they just leave Marilyn alone?
Let's Make It Legal (1951)
An almost unbearable movie, even Colbert and Monroe can't save it
This is quite possibly the worst Marilyn Monroe movie I have ever seen,it's not poor Marilyn's fault though. If you want to blame anyone for ruining this movie blame Barbara Bates and Robert Wagner. All Bates does in this movie is whine and complain , and she doesn't do it very well either.Wagner is Bates' husband who wants her to stop trying to get her divorced parents back together, and just like Bates, he gets so annoying you just want to slap him by the end of the movie. The two saving graces of "Let's Make is Legal" are Claudette Colbert and Marilyn Monroe, who doesn't have enough screen time.
