The Hunted (1995)
Was Christopher Lambert in this?
9 November 1999
Late one night my roommate and I decided to rent a movie. So looking aimlessly through the video store we found this movie. "Hey, it's got Christopher Lambert" star of Fortress and Highlander and it has ninja in it!

Well, that was all that could be said good about this really long uneventful movie. And then on top of which Christopher Lambert has maybe three minutes of lines the entire movie.

So if you see this movie in the rental store and get it because you like Lambert, avoid it because you can see him act more on a poster.

Sure, at first glimpse this looks like a pretty lame movie, a couple is in a futuristic prison. The plot is kind of photocopied from other futuristic distopian movies. But it's got HIGHLANDER in it...that alone is worth something. On top of which you've got some pretty great special effects including people becoming obliterated, that makes this movie even better. Some brief nudity, voyeurism, and a hot leading lady; all the elements to a great Friday night-got-nothing-beter-to-do rental!

HIGHLANDER HIGHLANDER HIGHLANDER
2 November 1999
Well it was a fair remake of the original movie, and sadly that's all it was! Scenes in the original Highlander movie matched scenes in this extraneous sequel. Take for instance the "exciting" car chase scene with the exception that Connor's adoptive son is the hostage instead of his girlfriend (Roxanne Hart). Mario Van Peebles might as well be called Kurgen because his entire act was exactly following Clancy Brown's (Kurgen from the original).

If you saw the first one, and have a curious need to see it all over again, then by all means go ahead and see it (but just rent it). However if you really liked the first one and you would like to keep the memory of it in your mind pleasant (assumming you missed the second one too), then avoid this movie.

Why the hell not?

It's a good enough flick to watch, especially if you're into making movies for film class. It's not one of those movies you rush out and see; but one of those movies you pick up when you've lapped the video store twice and say "why the hell not".

Got Obnoxious friends, and some beer... rent this.
4 October 1999
I like really bad movies, if you do too this movie is a great movie to watch with a bunch of obnoxious friends and a twelve pack of beer. When you go to the movie store and look for a really bad movie to watch with those obnoxious friends, you see TV's The Hulk and you think "this has GOT to be good". And Lou Ferrigno does not disappoint, part Conan part Terminator; all Ferrigno.

On top of Lou's real bad acting, and a canned post-apocalyptic plot, this movie offers a bountiful supply of bad special effects that would make Ed Wood proud.
