Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 (2000)
This film should be given a chance
'The Blair Witch Project' was a love it or hate it movie, and although I thought it was very good, a lot of people didn't. In fact, only people that are interested in movies and appreciate how hard it is to make a movie could understand how clever and well thought the film was, to every one else it was just three people running about in the woods with a video camera. Because of this, I don't think many were going to give 'Blair Witch 2' a chance. Even I myself was slightly dubious, but when I saw it, I was pleasently suprised. I have read MANY bad reviews for this film, but if people were to stop wanting to hate it and just watch it like a normal film they would realise how entertaining it is. Okay, so it's not the best film ever made and it is by no means a landmark in movie making like its predocesor, but, it DOESN'T take itself seriously, it knows what it is. There are moments of humour, the cop especialy and at times we are fed some disturbing images...all this ties in with the shocking truth that is not revealed untill the end. See this movie and give it chance and you should enjoy it.
The Bone Collector (1999)
Extremely Bad to the Bone
This film takes poor film making to new levels...it is unbelievebly bad. I can safely say, What a big pile of poo. I have never, seen anything quite as crud as this, and that is the truth.
'The Bone Collector' tries to be in the same league as fantastic films such as 'Se7en' and 'Silence of the Lambs' and fails miserably. In fact, in trying to do this, it makes itself look even more stupid than it actually is (if that is even possible) Denzel Washington spend all his screen time laying in a bed...perhaps this is a hidden message, reflecting how the audience should be. As for the story line...well, i'm not even going to waste my time explaining this useless rip off of Se7en and other great dark, moody films. Please, please, please do not put yourself through this pointless rubbish. Rent out Se7en and watch that again instead.
Scream 3 (2000)
a good film, But dissapointing end to the trilogy
The 1st Scream will go down in History as beeing the movie that revived the teen slasher flicks for the 90's. Then there was Scream 2, that kept the humour and blood flowing both as strong as each other. After these, we were promised an 'Extra Special' sequal, in the 3rd and Final Chapter that would finish the Scream films...and did we get it...well, allmost. It's not that Scream 3 is a bad film, it just isn't as good as the others. The main reason is, Kevin Williamson is not the main writer, and it shows. The humour isn't as good and the deaths aren't as elaborate and imaginative as in the other films. Also, Ghostface is not seen much and neither is Neve Campell really for that matter. In stead, the plot is really focused on Courtney Cox and David Arquete. Does Scream 3 answer all your questions...in a way, it does tie up loose ends, and you will never guess the killer in a million years...the ending is definately one of Scream 3's most memorable moments (along with the cameo from Jamie Kenedy as Randy) Don't let this put you off Scream 3 though...it is a good film and scream fans MUST see it...but, it could of been so much better, and i can't help but feel that it wont be long before another sequal spews it's way out, even though Ghostface's knife is clearly blunter that it has ever been.
The Sixth Sense (1999)
Every gift may not be a blessing, but the film certainly is
Once you've finished watching this film, you'll be rushing to rewind the tape so you can see it all over again, and the reason for this is.......I wont tell you, see it for yourself. All i can say is this is one of those very rare films that is actually better the second time you watch it. You see every bit you didn't understand or thought was a bit far fetched the first time you watched it just slide into place. Also, a great atmosphere is created. The kid is very good and Bruce Willis is different to his usual characters. You expect him to pull out an Uzi and start blasting the ghosts away, but he doesn't. Besides the ghosts though, the scariest thing in this film for me was seeing Bruce Willis with hair.
An EXCELLENT film. SEE IT. SEE IT. SEE IT. 9 / 10
Pi (1998)
Ready for a mind screw
A superbly made film. If you want to try something new and highly enjoyable then Pi is the film for you. It's one of those films that really puts your brain in gear and you can't help but think 'Wow' or 'This film could be true' and 'What if this really happened'. So what if it is in black and white, be open minded and see this film. You will be very glad you did
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998)
Guns, Gangs, Blood and London. What more could you want
Once again, Britian has made a top quality film. Allthough the picture sometimes seems a bit dark and yellow the storylines and characters make up for it. If your in the mood that you can really get into then the message is simple, SEE IT.
The one clever one liners will make you laugh, the blood will make you squirm, the plot twists will confuse the hell out of you and the ending will have you shouting out "When will a sequal be made."
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999)
Offensive, yet HILARIOUS
How many films have you actually sat in the cinema and laughed yourself to tears in? Well, this film can do that for you. All though you feel a little guilty for laughing at the offensive remarks and the use of 8 year olds swearing it is a MUST see. (especialy for fans of the T.V series, because some of your questions about characters may be answered)
