A Hero for Daisy (1999)
An O.K. Documentary
I saw this movie at my school. The story would seem intriguing but it starts to drag as the filmmaker continues her interviews, even though the interviewees get their points across within the first half of the film. However, for people who are interested in learning more about the 'Title IX" act, it is worth seeing. Others should seek elsewhere.
The Insider (1999)
Great Performances and Character Portrayal
I went to see this movie in the theater and I really enjoyed it.
Michael Mann is excellent at creating films that are long as well as entertaining. I have not seen a movie that long that is that good since "English Patient".
Al Pacino as Lowell Bergman was very good. He has the right kind of acting qualities to play this role.
Russel Crowe as Jeffery Wigland was not the greatest performance but I thought he did a good job.
The supporting cast was good as well. Christopher Plummer was good as Mike Wallace. Debbie Mazar was good as Debbie DeLuca. Diane Venora was good as Wigland's wife and Gina Gershon had a small role yet an excellent one as Helen Caperelli.
This is definitely one to see in the theater!
