Great Movie for Guys, OK movie for Gals
6 July 2003
Every guy can appreciate the plot of trying to get back into the (dating) game after a long-term relationship. In this movie, you see how he comes through it both in terms of his "swinging" friends AND in spite of them. The tone of the dialogue is very similar to the movie "Clerks" but with a much better tempo. There is also some great music cameos by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. This is a good movie for the guy's night of poker or drinking. However, I doubt many of the gals will be too keen as the fellas on this one (mine couldn't get into it and she likes Swing Music). Otherwise, have a "gin and tonic" with this one with the boys and enjoy.

Too sophisticated for most American Audiences

Warning: Spoilers
[Major spoilers in Review]

Unfortunately, most American audiences will probably not appreciate this thriller as a dark, edgy thriller sans explosions, loud sound-track, and dream-sequence.

But the film is worth viewing several times to pick up the plot twists and subtle recurring themes: such as falling and running water. Then you'll notice characters (such as the husband) in earlier and inconsequential parts that is later placed in her dream engram.

For those who enjoy film noire's, you'll appreciate the classic "double endemnity" playing on a tv screen as the opening credits roll and segues into the opening scene. It's a nice parallel between that movie and the one that the viewer is watching.

Nicely done

Good popcorn movie

An all-around good movie worth seeing. The plot is pretty basic: Quick-thinking kid from a broken family that he loved. He spent the next few years playing a pilot, doctor, and lawyer. Think "Pretender" (the television series) but based on real events. The surprise was the unique relationship of the FBI agent and the con-man in their cat-and-mouse chase they have over the years around the globe. An engaging film that you are curious to see how it ends. That goes even for my girlfriend who stayed awake for the entire movie because she was captivated by it [Note: she has slept thru "Gladiator", "Shakespeare in Love", "Elizabeth", and the "Fellowship of the Ring" because they (apparently) didn't peak her interest]. So if your date is the discriminating-type, he/she should be able to sit through this movie and enjoy it.

One of the Best IMAX films!
5 May 2003
This movie is an IMAX documentary about how the human body can be pushed to the limit. This movie takes full-advantage of the IMAX experience by incredible shots on location such as a rock outcrop being scaled by a climber and a skier racing down a ski slope. Equally impressive are the footage sequences INSIDE the human body. You will "fly-through" the lungs, the heart, and its mainy blood vessels. In the future this film might become dated with new bio-medical films or specials. But they will not match the cinematography experience that this film format displays on the subject matter. So sit back and enjoy the "ride"
