it was better than a deep cavity search...
23 May 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I do have to admit that I enjoyed IJKCS better than my last trip through LAX...over Christmas weekend...on stand-by...with 3 kids.

Oh my freakin %&$ this movie was a pile of crap. The Tarzan vine scene, the fridge blast scene, cmon. How come Indy never discusses who the kids' mother is after the diner scene until we see her. Like they've had no time to discuss this since embarking on a round the globe journey. And Shia's outfit was like Marlon Brando on the motorcycle. Boring characters that no-one cares about with too much CGI. I shelled out $13 bucks to see this opening night on the IMAX and wasn't expecting much after the initial reviews, but got even less. Lucas, Spielberg and Ford, what great potential. I'll never watch this piece of trash again.

The Core (2003)
8/10
Sweet Cheese
17 July 2003
Just got done watching The Core and had to post an opinion. This is what movies used to be when I was a kid. A totally new idea, cheesey but original. To compare I'd have to birth a child between War Games and Armageddon. I was able to predict 3 out of the 4 crew deaths, and only missed on not getting the compulsory kiss between the male and female leads. Heck, I don't even know their names and I just watched it 10 minutes ago. I really wanted to see this movie in theaters, but missed it, too bad. The special effects were great on TV, probably rocked on the big screen. If you're looking for a good time this is your movie. Looking for almost 2 hours of unbelievable, but enjoyable entertainment, this is your movie. Do you believe a Jurassic Park is possible, this is your movie. Suspend disbelief and have the ride of the week. The title of my post is "Sweet Cheese", that is exactly what this movie is, it's totally BS and a rocking good time all at once. Heck, I'm buying this one on DVD!!! 8 outa 10

not that bad, kept me interested
26 September 2002
Sad story of a downed B-17 pilot. Brady is shot down over occupied territory. The local ranchers extended him kindness and protection at the cost of their own lives. I had never heard of this movie and it snagged me for two hours. After the film is over, I'm glad I took the time. It's an entire story told to explain the look on Brady's face at the start of the film.

kinda like watching paint dry
8 July 2002
I really wanted to enjoy this movie, really I did. But then I had to watch it. It is a beautiful looking movie, well acted, but just plain boring. I loved the idea, but this this adaptation didn't work. Some movies take me along while the tale is told, but The Majestic just put me to sleep. In fact I had to try 3 times to finish it. I think that people over 45 will enjoy this movie, at least they can revel in the period.

This is not a war movie, this is a masterpiece
14 June 2002
A story that needed to be told. A group of men, Native American men. Who fought and died for the red white and blue. Adam Beach deserves nominations for his role as a Navajo codetalker. Nick Cage is at his finest. This film shows you courage, plain and simple.

prime example of a murder hoodwinking Hollywood
26 May 2002
Rubin Carter was tried and found guilty of murder. Read the evidence. This man is a nightmare. His own people call him Satan. He has lied, beaten and murdered. He was not able to pass ANY lie detector tests, and ballistics matched bullets found in his car to bullets that killed the 3 people. This evidence was found in the presence of unbiased 3rd party reporters. Do not let a good film could the truth. Rubin Carter is a stone cold murderer who walks the streets today while his victims are 6 feet under. The movie is inaccurate and portrays Carter as a victim when he is the true predator. This psychopath deserves to be behind bars now. Do some research and decide for yourself.

I've always loved baseball...
2 May 2002
but had grown tired of it after many years of playing. I'd never been one to watch baseball on TV, too slow and boring for me. I only loved playing. The sound the bat makes when you really get the whole ball. The smack of the ball into the glove. I love'd it all. I even got my shot, but never went very far. So many years had passed and I hadn't seen a baseball game since I was a boy. Then I stumbled onto this series. I had never been so captured by a program in my life. Ken Burn's brought me to the house the Ruth built. He took me to the Negro Leagues. Satchel Paige is now a hero of mine. This is worth the $150 investement. Once a week my friends and I gather to watch "an inning".

Bar none, the finest television production EVER
15 April 2002
What more can be said about this series. This is without a doubt the finest program ever offered for TV. I didn't even dare to hope it would be this good. Great acting, great filmmaking, great EVERYTHING!!! Do not miss this, in fact purchase this on DVD if possible, I know I will. It is as rewarding as SPR inevery aspect. In fact due to the length, I'd choose this over SPR as far as a recomendation. DO NOT MISS THIS!

nearly moved to tears
14 April 2002
good movie. Caught it on cable today and found myself unable to turn the channel. A Travolta movie I didn't recognize made me stop, but then the movie just caught me. Don't rush right out to get this one, but don't miss it if it is on cable. I love dog movies, this one is really nice. The ending, which I won't spoil, was what I had hoped for, but was afraid not to get. Not a 10/10, but 8/10 is what it deserves. Ellie Raab, funny in The Ref, is warm, touching and beliveable in this movie. John Travolta is a single father, hard to like in this film, but belivable.

don't waste your time. I feel like filing a lawsuit for the time I lost off of my life by watching even 10 minutes of this pure crap, This movie is as bad as the reviews. I think this Carlo guy is high. Please do something else rather than watch this "film" clean your raingutters, paint the house, do your dishes and laundry, anything's better than this movie.

Touching
31 August 2001
The last year of a man's life as seen through the eyes of his daughter. A family gathers to help care for their terminal father, son, brother. Jeffrey Betancourt is loved by his family and they try to become closer during the last days. They don't waste the time they have. I've seen it twice, cried twice. As a heterosexual, it changed my outlook on homosexuality. To show me what is right in the world. I feel Nicole's loss.

Predictable, but really enjoyable
28 May 2001
Rob Schneider seems to grow as a comedic actor with every feature he does. I have to admit that when I saw Deuce Bigalow is was not expecting much. Same with this movie, but in both cases I am pleasantly suprised. I will have to get this one on DVD too. Survivor's Colleen Haskell was quite cute and charming, with more coaching she may indeed have a Hollywood career. But I have to say tha she was more fascinating on the island in her bikini. Overall I suggest it as a date movie. Maybe an afternoon bargain flick.

David Blaine: Magic Man (1998 TV Movie)
10/10
Wow, the finest live performer of our time.
30 November 2000
Houdini who? David Blaine is the real thing. From his feat of magic to his feats of endurance we are treated to a visual cavalcade of illusions that will freak you out. I came upon this special accidentally and had never heard of David before. All it took was that one look, and I realized that I had found the most talented magician of our day. I hate to use the word "magician" when describing David, because it tend to lump him into the group of artists who grace the stage with their illusions. One of the things that sets David apart is that he does his work right in your face. Walking among his fans, he chooses to let you in, dares you to stare right at him while he entertains you, and never letting you see what his magic is. Illusions and tricks are one thing, but to make grown adults belive in magic is his most special gift. David, if you ever read this.....Rock On Buddy!!!!!

an early anime favorite
20 November 2000
This Jap Anime cartoon was shown on Prism or Showtime if I remember correctly. I have ben searching for the name of this show for several weeks now and finally found it!! The Thunderbirds were a high tech rescure team who could rescue victims in the air on land or sea. Sort of Navy SEAL paramedics with a little of the Transformers and Voltron thrown in. A great animated seris if you can find it.

Don't listen to the other fools, This movie Rocks

The second war in heaven!?! Christopher Walken is evil crystalized. Elias Koteas and Virginia Madsen race to save a young girl from the Arch Angel Gabriel (Walken). This girl is hiding the blackest soul on earth from the b-a-d angels who need this dark soul to swing the balance of this second war that never ended. Kudos to Viggo Mortensen (GI Jane) as the devil. I had to leave these comments after reading another person's critical comments. What can I say? He's probably still is bummed that they took Fame off the air!

You'll have a better time at an insurance seminar
25 October 2000
Fox followed the huge mistake of airing this piece of @#$*, with the great judgement of pulling it after only 3 episodes. You may remember this failed show by the Fox commercial with a sort of cute blonde doing a little pelvis gyration while wearing these clam digger capri pants. That was the high point. I can't even believe I'm wasting my time typing about it!!

Becoming Dick (2000 TV Movie)
9/10
A nice escape from network TV
24 October 2000
I had seen the ads for this movie and was sitting on the fence until I saw it. This film is really surprising. It tells the story of Richard Breggs, the nice guy. He has gone his entire life being the nice guy, and what has it gotten him, nothing he thinks. He lunches with his friend Bob Saget to discuss their personal failures. They agree that it is the a**hole who gets the job, it is the jerk who gets ahead in this world. So Richard becomes Dick that same day. Conning his way into a part in a play, he quits his job and tells his girlfriend of his plans. He awakes after a fight with his live in girlfriend ( a very cute Elizabeth Berkley from Saved By the Bell and Showgirls)to find he has forgotten the last 5 years and is now the biggest star on TV, he has also become the biggest Dick in the world. Watch as Richard tries to reclaim his life or at least become the guy he used to be. 3 thumbs up!!

Wow, a great movie accidently found
19 October 2000
After a knee injury sidelined me for several weeks, I discovered this fine film. Truly a great movie, Jason Donovan plays a very convincing new soldier to the jungles in the end of WWII. After the deaths of all of his comrades, he becomes embroiled in a fierce life or death struggle with the surviving member of a Japanese outpost. The final scenes bring humanity and seems to more personalize the war than most any other movie I've ever seen. This is a very fine film, don't miss it.

A bad made for TV movie about an empty lot in the city
9 May 2000
Wow, this was a bad movie. I remember how bad it was when it aired the first time. John Schneider is a home builder who comes to the big city to an empty lot. Despite insurmountable problems and hardships he manages to build his "dream House" on an empty lot in the middle of the city. Imagine putting the Cleaver house on Wall Street. This was a bad idea that made a bad movie.

The worst movie I ever saw!!!!!!!!
27 March 2000
Cmon, from drawn out shots of candles in the wind to native boys swimming it sucked. There were too many shots of little girls listening to their pregnant mommies tummies. It was not poetic, it was laughable. It seemed that they could not afford to buy uniforms for the actors, rather just brown shirts and pants. But we felt that the coup de grace was the scene in which Woody Harrelson "blew his butt off" . If you are willing to sit and watch this movie uninterrupted, you will be rewarded with the worst headache that you will ever have!!!!!!!

A very fine film
16 March 2000
Wow, wonderful characters, great story line, what more can you ask for. Jim Carrey's presence hooked me to watch this film on cable today. As a big Carrey fan I wanted to see all of his films, but was totally blown away by what I saw today. Although Carrey is barely in this film, I didnt care. Once I met Simon Birch I wanted to see more. I had tears streaming down my face at the end of the film. I think I may have to watch this one a couple of times.

A Western Braveheart
12 February 2000
Wow, one of the finest films I have ever seen. What more can I say. John Cusack turns in one of his best performances to date as Myrl Redding. A horse trader who was just trying to go to sell a fine string of ponies in the free territory of Wyoming. After having two stallions stolen at a clandestine tollbooth and beaten he seeks justice where none is to be found. Tragically the death of his wife shows that sometimes you must make your own justice.
