The Television Show with John Henson (1999)
very funny, don't know why it wasn't given a chance
I remember seeing this the first time it premiered, and I thought it was so funny. I also thought ABC was thinking the same thing, but they obviously weren't when it went off the air in probably the following week. They should bring it back on a reasonable time slot, maybe it will be better received if they do so.
The Bernie Mac Show (2001)
you'll laugh till you wet your pants!
At first I had not paid any attention to this show when it first came on the air because I thought it would just be like every other African-American sitcom that got cancelled in a month. However, I was DEAD wrong! I sat down and watched this with my relatives over the holiday break, and I cannot tell you how many times I burst into uncontrollable laughter! The three kids that Bernie has to take care of are at sometimes a little nice, but at the same time, want to make him rip his hair out from the roots. Watching him react to his daily problems cracks me up. For anybody whoever had their doubts about this show who is reading this comment, give this show a chance. You will not be disappointed.
Ocean's Eleven (2001)
a very pleasant surprise to see over the winter break
I came into the theaters to see this film, not knowing what to expect, but only knowing that the film was a remake. Though I haven't seen the first release of the film, this years film probably did live up to the original, and then some. Ocean's Eleven was an excellent picture on all levels. The relationships between the talent involved in the film provided for some memorable moments during the picture that were both funny yet tense. George Clooney and Brad Pitt worked well together as a pair, and personally I loved Bernie Mac's performance as the blackjack dealer.
Night Court (1984)
a really good show. . .
Now I was born in 1985, so I was only seven when Night Court finally went off the air, but the show is fantastic! I watch the reruns on A&E on cable, and they are so funny, yet dead serious in some episodes. Harry Anderson is a wonderful actor, and so are others such as Markie Post and Richard Moll. Each character has something to add to the show, and I guess that is what I love about this show. I want to see more classic NBC shows like this!
