Time Enough at Last
26 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I know this will probably come off as sappy, but why not! Adam Sandler has definitely migrated from a pretty funny comedian to an actor with much depth in both comedy and drama. This story touched me and points out the importance of people who are so caught up in their career, getting ahead that the family suffers emotionally. Yes, the family may get the "things" they want, but missed all that precious time in bonding.

That's why I used the old title from a very famous Twilight Zone, where "time" was the issue.

Again, "Click" addresses this too.

We waste so much time on stuff which will never be as important as family. Hug your kids, take that vacation....don't waste a minute.

Bravo, to the writers of "Click".

The Notebook (2004)
TRUE LOVE EPITOMIZED IN THIS MOVIE!
14 June 2004
Warning: Spoilers
This movie can take you back to your first love. It can show how people can overcome any obstacle just to be with the one they were meant for.

SPOILERS BELOW!

It is a journey and the journey never really ends, even as the main characters, Noah and Allie are now caught in the reality of aging and the illness which cripples Allie's memories. Even in this situation, Noah is there to love her, perhaps more now than ever before. His challenge - bring her back to him, to love him and cherish the memories they built through their lifetime together.

I loved this movie - savored every moment and Nick Cassavettes has a treasure here.

This movie can mean a lot of things to people. In my situation, I had lost my first love to death, only to find another love, and a deeper love than the first. This can be compared to Noah and Allie. For, once they rediscovered the love they once shared, it was appreciated even more.

My new husband and I cried through this movie, appreciating the love we have.

This movie sums it up!

A TRUE EVENT
29 February 2004
I am having a difficult time voicing my opinion here. No words can cover the feeling any Christian will have while watching this film!

Anyway, despite all the criticism, Mel Gibson's film is the "King of Kings" ( for those of you who remember the older Christ movies)

I love the flashbacks;the normal bantor between Jesus and Mary is touching. Being the mom of a teenage son, I could relate to Mary's sorrow.

Please, Please all Christians, go see this film! I intend to go again.

God bless you Mel! You are going to help alot of people see the way!

Seabiscuit (2003)

BEST MOVIE OF THE SUMMER OF 2003
26 July 2003
I have to say that "triumph" is the key word for Seabiscuit. For anyone who has sustained a major loss, but rose above it, you'll understand why Seabiscuit is so special.

The three characters come together to fulfill a unique

purpose, one without the other could not make Seabiscuit (the horse) succeed.

It just goes to show that anyone who has the gumption can rise above whatever life deals them.

Go see it - no, gallop to see this movie!

You won't be disappointed.

What will your contribution be?
25 November 2002
Warning: Spoilers
Some Spoilers I went into this film thinking it would be about the devoted teacher who changes a troubled boy. Well, this movie delivered more. It shows what happens when we make an incorrect decision in life, i. e. Mr. Hundert's decision to wrongfully bump up Sedgewick's score, hurting the noble Martin Blythe. It also brings to mind the fact that, as young teenagers, a person's character can be immediately molded, if not already defined. I was impressed with Sedgewick's character, not that he is admirable, but for the cunning and devious person he eventually turned out to be. (He didn't surprise me for a minute - I knew he was a scoundrel) Sedgewick will always be the conniving character he was in his youth. Mr. Hundert is forgiven by Martin, but as seen in the end, all is

never lost with Martin. He sends his son to the same teacher. A very nice touch. A true winner, I loved this movie and would recommend it to any student who wants to reach for the stars and can get there nobly. What will your contribution be?

I wanted to like it! Some spoilers here
11 March 2002
Warning: Spoilers
I have read many comments on the new Time Machine. I couldn't help comparing what this version lacked, compared to the 1960 version. I wanted to like it, really! However, what I missed was the narration of the main character, as he travelled, what he hoped to see and what the future would bring. The Emma storyline was ok, but they could have done so much more with that. Alexander really needed to let go of her, so he could emotionally embrace the future. The moon disaster was very well done, but I know some of you will hate me, I couldn't stand to look at Jeremy Irons (too sci-fi looking). Sorry. I know they kept the dress shop, but I wanted him to comment on the changing styles as he did in 1960.

Two Bits (1995)
emotional
10 February 2002
The last line in the movie had tears falling from our eyes. We LOVED this movie. It kept us interested throughout! The realism of Philadelphia was wonderful, especially since it was supposed to be many years in the past. Acting superb, content holding, message eye opening. all in all, a movie we never expected to be so good, was in fact, heart warming. Joe and Lydia

BORINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!
6 January 2002
Don't believe the hype! In the bedroom is by far the worst movie I have seen. I don't understand what the critics mean. Sissy Spacek and Marissa Tomei are wasted in these roles. Even the murder scene is a bore.

If you need a cure for insomnia, go see In the Bedroom. My husband slept through the whole thing.

A complete disappointment

BITTERSWEET LOVE GONE AWRY!!!
16 February 2001
How poignant this movie is....showing us young love between Deanie and Bud. All the time, you just know that the parents are setting them up for disaster. I first saw this film when I was a young woman of 12 in 1967 and it impressed me so much how two people could be in love, but it could never be. I cried and cried, thinking how sad this was. Now, as a grown woman, watching it, I still felt the same. I still cried after watching it the other night. I always loved Natalie Wood and felt that there was a real chemistry between she and Warren Beatty. (I think their real-life affair during this film contributed to the sparks that fly in this movies). Also, the time period added alot symbolically to the film: The care-free Roaring Twenties which eventually led to the harsh reality of the Depression. Brilliant work of Elia Kazan!!!

IT WILL MAKE YOU CRY!!!!
26 June 2000
Just saw this movie, this year, 2000 and I must say: What did I miss all these years!!!

Robin Williams, very much like the character he played in "Good Will Hunting" brings to life a teacher I wish I could have had the priviledge of having.

He shows the students that life is precious and pursue your dreams. Don't want to say much more.

SEE IT!!!
