Dont Take it so seriously
24 September 2003
I'm astonised to see some of the comments regarding this film. Do people not realise that its not supposed to be a serious piece of cinema. Its a mindless adventure/Comedy with huge holes in the plot that nobody bothered to sort out because they really don't matter in this type of film. Kevin Costner is fine as the lead (The fact he kept the American accent should have made people realise the lighthearted nature of the film)and Alan Rickman is excellant as the villian. For a evening of TV that you dont have to think too hard about, this is just about the perfect film.

I love this Film!!

I watched this for about the 5th time last night and would challenge anyone not to warm to the characters in this movie. Bullock and Pulman are perfect as indeed are the rest of the cast. If I had any criticism it would be that the pace slows slightly and it may be a fraction long but this is a minor flaw in what is a true feel good movie.

OK Feel good movie

This film is very much what you would expect it to be. Unoffensive, far fetched but at the same time well made with well paced performances from the 2 main stars. There are much worst ways to spend 2 hours at the movies and whilst my ribs were not aching with laughter I did laugh out loud a few times, as did the rest of the cinema

Harvard Man (2001)
Depressing Film
28 March 2003
Some movies think there a lot better than they really are. This is a good example of this. Arty camera work, odd angles etc. The problem is that all of the characters are so offensive that I couldn't give a damn if they lived or died. Once that feeling had set in all I wanted was for the film to end. Miss Geller is a decent actress, but if she doesn't find a good film soon may regret her decision to leave Buffy

Its not that bad!!

I watched this the other night and after reading the reviews was expecting a pile of crap!! What you get however is an admittedly silly film, but one that is not without humour. All the leads seem to be in on the joke and are having a good time with it. Also the special effects were good and its got a great soundtrack. All in all I suggest you forget the reviews and give this film a chance

Dire

This is a really bad movie with nothing good about it at all. I like most things that John Goodman has done but this is rubbish. Its so bad that its hard to think of four lines worth of review. Theres some good actors in this but see them in something else

A very bad film indeed!

I don't think the director has ever recovered from Highlander 2! This is a very bad film indeed, poorly acted, written & directed. The special effects certainly don't help particularly at the early stages of the film. The leading man seems to mumble his way through most of his lines and to see a couple of cast offs from British soap Eastenders just made the whole thing a farce. AVOID

Sorry but this didn't get to me!

As a fan of Buffy and (good)romantic comedies I thought I'd rent this on video. While the story was romantic the leads just didn't gel at all and the pace of the film was far too slow. Miss Geller I'm sure has a great future in movies as well as TV but that future does not start here.

Better than the second Highlander
13 February 2000
The best thing this film could do was to ignore the previous film! This was therefore the real follow up to the original. Still nowhere near as good however. If you want to see a highlander film watch the first one. A lot of the first seemed to be copied even to the mad car driving by the villain.

Very Average

I watched this on video last night mainly because I'm a fan of most Harrison Ford movies. This however is probably one of the worst he's been in. Theres no spark between the leads and the secondary characters are just there to annoy. If its on TV and nothing else is on watch it, if you've anything else to do avoid.

The best Romantic Comedy I've seen for a long time
25 January 2000
I somehow missed this film at the cinema but watched it last night on video. Its the sort of film that leaves you feeling good about yourself, the world and life in general. Great performances from both Cage and particularly Fonda make you actually care about the people they portray.

If you have not yet seen this I recommend a visit to your video store.
