The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)
Always has been one of my favorite movies
The anti-war theme of the movie at a time when the U.S. was involved in the anti-communist hearings in Washington and the Korean conflict, caused many problems for this movie to be made. The Army wouldn't let them use any of their vehicles in the movie, so all of the tanks and military vehicles used were from the Natinal Guard. The similarity of the space vistor and Jesus is interesting. Besides his use of the name Carpenter, he was executed then resurrected. But a compromised had to be made in the resurrection scene. It had to be stated that it was only temporary and not permanent.
The Party Animal (1984)
A Cult Classic
This movie has more laughs than nearly any I have seen. A collection of scenerios, this movie moves fast and you can hardly catch your breathe between laughs. My favorite scene? Has to be the fart potion. Trust me, if you don't about die from this one your already dead.
