Hit Man (1972)
"You're a big cat, but don't be selling me no wolf ticket."
An excellent version of the Ted Lewis book, Jack's return home. Although the style and acting is below the high standard of Hodges' classic Get Carter, it conjures up some novel death scenes and some cool dialogue. Caine said "You're a big man, but you're out of shape. Me, it's a full time job." Bernie Casie said, "You're a big cat, but don't be selling me no wolf ticket." Quality. If you liked Carter, you'll like Hit Man.
Race with the Devil (1975)
a cross between the whicker man and deliverance.
Classic chiller sees two couples chased through small town US in a cross between the wicker man and deliverance. Peter Fonda and Warren Oats head this slick and often chilling chase movie, that has one of the most sinister endings you'll see. Check it out for a feeling of claustrophobia and paranoia.
Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood (1996)
Very, very funny gangsta parody
Hilarious. If you are a fan of Boys in the Hood, Menace II Society, Juice, etc. Then you will absolutely love this film. It gives laughs from beginning to end with many full belly laughs to boot. From Loc Dog's swearing at Grandma, to white cops playing a Rodney King computer game, it keeps the jokes coming.
If you haven't seen the films that this one parodies then get them out and watch this one after. A great spoof. WATCH IT !!
Visiting Hours (1982)
often gripping, interesting stalk and slash
Despite the low rating submitted by viewers this is certainly worth watching for lovers of 80's stalk and slash. Granted, no new ground was broken in this little venture but a moody performance by MICHAEL IRONSIDE as a woman killing psycho and mostly good performances and production values makes this an addaquite venture into this horror sub-sub-genre. Look out for wig wearing Shatner, who pops up now and again in no great story capacity. Worth a look.
